The Collagen Craze - Separating Fact From Fiction

This week Jeff and Steve separate the facts from fiction and address the most common misconceptions around collagen supplements and some of the outrageous marketing claims that some companies are making. In recent years, collagen has become a buzzword, with claims of its ability to improve skin health, joint health, and even aid in muscle building. With so many different products and claims being made, it can be hard to know what's real and what's just hype. In this episode, we’ll explore the differences between different types of collagen, and whether or not there is any scientific evidence to support the claims being made about its benefits. We'll also delve into the debate over whether collagen can help with muscle building by exploring the differences between the amino acids leucine and glycine’s ability for mTOR stimulation and what this actually means. Finally, we'll discuss the importance of getting all the necessary amino acids in sufficient amounts, and explore the efficacy of collagen supplements and other supplements or foods that can help to meet demands. Join Jeff and Steve as they navigate the collagen craze, and learn how to make informed decisions about whether or not to incorporate it into your health and wellness routine.
