  • Episode 288 featuring Christina Orjalo (Deathstalker & The Big Comfy Couch!)
Today we are joined with Christina Orjalo for a behind the scenes look into Deathstalker! Around playing a badass assassin named Brisbayne in the film, she captured so many candid moments while she was on set. Christina also has to be the youngest 20 year acting vet we ever talked to. From appearing in The Big Comfy Couch, Murdoch Mysteries, Schitt's Creek and much more, she gives us an introspective look into living in the world of arts and entertainment. (Deathstalker is now streaming on SHUDDER!)

  • Episode 287 featuring Captain Skinner!
Today we are joined with visual artist Captain Skinner and director Allen Cordell to get a behind the scenes look into their absolutely unhinged and hilarious series titled Art Show with Captain Skinner. The best way I can describe it is it's kind of like Bob Ross, but if Bob Ross was in outer space and forced to do the show for an audience of kids who don't like him. This series fells like a fever dream acid trip and you can check out all this fun right now over on ‪Etch Film's YouTube channel!

  • Episode 286 featuring TIGERS JAW (Brianna Collins)
Today we are joined with the lovely Brianna Collins of Tigers Jaw to hear all about her 20 year journey with the band. From early scene days right up to their brand new album titled "Lost On You" that is OUT RIGHT NOW! We get an introspective look into the mind and soul of Brianna's life as a touring musician.

  • Episode 285 featuring GAEREA! Evolution of Sound, Loss, and Shattering Vulnerability
Today joining us all the way from Portugal we are graced with the mysterious presence of one of our new favorite metal music acts Gaerea! They are on the verge of releasing their new album titled Loss that is dropping on March 20th that I can only describe as a cinematic experience. We take a deep dive into learning about the raw beauty of this piece and how the band has evolved to break traditional boundaries of the genre to unshackle their artistic expression and creative freedom. What we love the most about this interview is how it continues to go deeper as the themes of the album brings up real life topics such as managing grief, shattering vulnerability, and authentically making art from the core of your soul. I feel like this is a great interview for both long time and new Gaerea fans to get to know a bit more about the man behind the mask.

  • Episode 284 featuring SWEETNESS Film (Actor & Director)
Today we are joined with actor Herman Tommeras and director Emma Higgins to get a behind the scenes look into their new psychological thriller SWEETNESS. This film is absolutely crushing with the critics and gives us a bit of a modern vibe of Stephen Kings Misery story (with the roles of a pop rock star held captive by an obsessive fan). Layers of character depth with real life themes of mental health, toxic fandom, artist exhaustion, vices, and much more made this a great conversation around the film itself. We thoroughly enjoyed this flick and after this interview we gained even more layers of appreciation for it.

  • Episode 283 featuring Sook-Yin Lee (Much Music & Paying For It)
Today we are joined with film director / Canadian broadcast legend Sook-Yin Lee to reflect on her past Much Music adventures and her current movie "Paying For It" that hits select theatres this week. Along with some of the thematic narrative of this film it really opened us up to hear a lot about her journey of both film directing and becoming one of the most beloved music VJ's that hit all of our television screens across the nation.

  • Episode 282 featuring Kezia Gill
Today we are joined with UK singer/songwriter Kezia Gill. She has a brand new album titled "All On Red" dropping on January 23rd that covers themes of betting on yourself, following your intuition, and even just drinking some f**kin whiskey! Kezia got an infectious spirit that is super fun and introspective. We had a great time hearing about her journey into music and a whole bunch of other topics.

  • Episode 281 featuring Ov Sulfur (Chase Wilson)
Today we have a one on one chat with Chase Wilson from Ov Sulfur about the making of their brand new album Endless that combines and breaks all tropes of the Deathcore, Black Metal, and Metalcore genres. Alongside that we learn about his head tattoo that was inspired by the 2015 Robert Eggers film "The Witch", how he immortalized his grandfather who passed at the end of their recent single Wither, and that one of our favorite moments of the album is actually a secret nod to the band Creed!?!

  • Episode 280 featuring 54-40 (Neil Osborn)
Today we are joined with Neil Osborn of the legendary 54-40 to chat about their brand new album Porto and reminisce on some of their past greatest hits. We also get a fascinating look into Neil's songwriting influence connecting to Carl Jung's dream interpretation and how he took a nightmare about the apocalypse and turned it into an amazing tune. In the end it is not all doom in gloom as we both came to the conclusion of if there was ever a massive society collapse, there will still be music.

  • Episode 279 featuring Blitz//Berlin (Martin Macphail)
Today we are joined with Martin McPhail who is one 3rd of the Juno Award winning, blockbuster film & trailer scoring trio BLITZ//BERLIN. Martin and the gang went from being a humble Canadian punk band to setting the sounds of some of the biggest franchises (Alien Earth, Top Gun Maverick, GOT: House Of Dragons, Bladerunner 2049, Far Cry 6 x Stranger Things, AND MORE). We learn about his latest work in "Silent Night, Deadly Night" that is hitting theatres on December 12th while getting a fascinating look into the process of scoring a major top secret Hollywood trailers before the release. From getting an email from Tom Cruise to collaborating with Slash (Guns N Roses) for the latest Deathstalker movie, Martin is full of awesome stories, great insight, and awesome vibes.
