There were no waves to surf on this morning for Garrett and a few of his surf buddies, but they didn't let that stop them from going out into the ocean for an hour anyway! In fact, it was still a great surf session, and with it came an awesome lesson for Garrett that sometimes we end up giving up too soon based off of our first initial assessment. Instead of waiting for something to mold and evolve into something workable, we decide to quit. The majority of projects, people and relationships that call it quits simply needed a little longer to develop into the desired result. The key is to be a little patient and not give up too soon.

In today's episode Garrett decides not to talk about surfing by talking about waves in the ocean that he was surfing on. ;) Energy has been building up in the ocean that has been pulling sand from the ocean floor to create a completely different kind of wave along the beach near Garrett, giving him a completely different surfing experience. It's this collision that is needed when experiencing the inevitable chaos in life that brings us to the greater place of joy. But we have to endure the chaos first to get achieve that outcome, which is a great reminder to remember when overwhelmed and stuck in the middle of the collision.

In today's episode Garrett had to do what he calls a switch plan to course correct his whole day after realizing that the bacteria levels raised significantly higher in the ocean due to the recent rainstorm Southern California received. He uses the term audible to change the initial plan that he had to go surfing to tackle other important shit instead. It's inevitable that there is going to be shit that goes down in our life and the only thing we can do is now how to switch from the initial plan and move to a different plan.

In today's episode Garrett shares the insight that no matter how much you think you're taking care of shit, things happen and it's part of life to deal with it as it comes up. Over time, we have erosion occur that needs to be handled, and it's up to us to handle it when it's tiny or deal with the consequences of ignoring it and having to tackle a much bigger problem later on.

In today's episode Garrett was exposed to a whole new appreciation for the confidence that it takes to walk around butt-ass naked and be totally OK with it. No, he didn't become a nudist, but he DID surf a break along a nudist beach. From slathering up on sunscreen to protect one's nether regions to having a normal, comfortable conversation while standing around naked and owning yourself in complete authenticity, Garrett learned that until we are willing to expose ourselves with complete honesty, we will never truly have unwavering confidence.
