In today's episode Garrett and his family are traveling back to beautiful Southern California after an incredible family trip to Maui, which his daughter Bailee described as adventurous and fun amongst some of the other words to describe the great experience. Garrett mentioned that some people leave for vacations to escape a life that they would rather avoid, while it's possible to go on a vacation to have a great time while still having a great life back home. Greatness builds upon greatness.

In today's episode Garrett gives the listener a "shocking" example of meeting unexpected shit while out on the waves surfing solo. Getting shocked on his fingertips by an electrifying sea creature taught him that we are going to be facing things that we haven't planned on, which sometimes prevents people from riding out onto the waves of life at all. The top key points that he emphasized for those that are willing to ride their own waves is to pick the battles and be selective about which wave we're going to face, and then once we do that, stay committed to it. There are going to be waves tossing all around us in every form of our life, which can also become very overwhelming if we don't know what we want to commit to.

In today's episode Garrett shares a huge breakthrough in surfing while on his family trip to Maui when facing the fear that comes from hitting an intimidating set wave. The words, "Don't let go. Take a deep breath. Don't panic" comes into his head like a mantra that can be in relation to everything that we experience in life when chaos ensues. Sometimes, the peace is right there, only we allow the panic to take over and give up.

In today's episode Garrett has Coach Mack, a pro-surfer in Hawaii on the show with him going over the importance of understanding the conditions in which we're in...in their case, the ocean while surfing and knowing what to do look for from a place of calm patience instead of uncertain panic. When we learn how to breath through the chaos we are able to achieve better results that panic would otherwise prevent us from accomplishing.
