  • Mosul offensive: New phase in battle for Iraq's second city (part 2)
After four months of urban warfare, a new chapter is opening in the battle to retake Iraq's second city as the government announces an offensive to retake the western part of Mosul. It promises to be a long fight, with at least 700,000 residents still trapped inside ISIS-controlled areas. Will the White House start to weigh in on the Russia-backed campaign by the Syrian regime, which includes a small dose of engaging ISIS while most of the shelling is directed at other rebels elsewhere? Click here for PART ONE.
Produced by Yi SONG, François WIBAUX and Laure FOURQUET.

  • NATO's Next Steps: What future with or without the US? (part 1)
The New US Defence Secretary James Mattis dropped a metaphorical bombshell at a NATO meeting in Brussels: if the rest don't pay more, the US may "moderate its commitment". This comes after Donald Trump in January declared NATO to be "obsolete". There is concern in capitals across the Atlantic that the organisation which had been a bastion of world peace and security for nearly 70 years should be so dismissed by the businessman-in-chief. What is the future for NATO? Click here for PART TWO.
Produced by Michele BARBERO, François WIBAUX and Van MEGUERDITCHIAN.

  • Trump's Troubles: What Flynn's fall says about the new White House (part 1)
Michael Flynn, Donald Trump's national security advisor, has resigned just 24 days into a key role in the new administration - the price paid for misleading the vice president over contacts with a Russian diplomat. Appointing a man who the last attorney general warned was at risk of being compromised because of his links to Russia - was this the least "smart" move yet of the Trump administration? Our panel discusses what the implications are for Trump, the US, and the world's crisis zones. Click here for PART TWO.
