Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by discussing the new developments since yesterday’s show centered around January 6th as Tucker Carlson continues to release new footage from the incident sent by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. Dom plays back some reaction from the first night of footage, including the words of Mitt Romney, who said that it’s sad to see Tucker go off the rails, and Merrick Garland, who stammered and offered up inaccurate information when pressed by a reporter. Dom tells why he believes the footage to be so important, telling of the implications that this footage coming to light has on ongoing trials for those there on that day. Then, Dom discusses the news yesterday that former gubernatorial candidate in Pennsylvania, Doug Mastriano, is preparing for a run for Senate against sitting Senator Bob Casey. Dom explains why he’s against this notion, telling why he’s vehemently against a Mastriano run for Senate, calling Mastriano a ‘menace’ to the ability for Republicans to win in Pennsylvania.
Then, Dom welcomes in Jeff Yass, a Pennsylvanian options trader and billionaire that the Inquirer regularly likes to paint negatively as ‘the richest man in Pennsylvania.’ Yass, a strong proponent for charter schools and school choice, was the target of an episode of ABC’s Abbott Elementary, with the fictional school facing a takeover by an ‘evil’ charter school organization. First, Yass tells whether he was watching the show live, with Yass telling how he found out about the reference toward his work. Then, Giordano asks Yass to explain why, as a successful businessman, he’s involved himself in such a political topic, with Yass telling of the importance of allowing children throughout the country, and their parents, to determine their future by offering choices in education. Also, Yass offers his opinion on the mayoral race here in Philadelphia, pointing to the hypocrisies in the anti-charter platforms of certain candidates. (Photo by Brent Stirton/Getty Images)
