The ability to let your admin help you become successful has become a lost art. Both leaders and admins should listen to this episode to learn how to create a phenomenal working relationship.
I get this question asked all the time! Whether I am doing speaking events or working one-on-one they ask me if there are any secrets to getting promoted. I'm not going to spout off the same old things here. We're going 3 levels deeper to set you apart and bolster your success.
I'm really excited about today's podcast because it's going to hit you square between the eyes! You'll see your life in a different way than you have in the past and change your world in 1 day. I also answer the question of what to do when you're falling in love with your boss.
I've worked with a lot of people lately having difficulty leading their teams. It doesn't matter if you're officially a leader or not, you have an effect on every person you work with. Because there is more work to do there seems to be more stress, hostility and longer hours than ever before. I'm going to give you some reminders of how to feel human at work again.
I've been gone the last couple of weeks doing some speaking and seeing some great things happening as people take control of their careers. I'm seeing it more and more in younger individuals. They ask themselves where they want to be in the next few years and why! Then they ask me "Should I get a master's degree?" or even "Should I go to college?"
Today we're talking about mentors. Why do you get one? What do you talk about with them? How long do you keep that relationship? What do the meetings look like? What kind of feedback and assistance are you looking for? There is rarely a time when I think this subject is handled correctly or that I think will benefit you and your career. I have some really interesting views on this and I'm going to give you all the information you need to properly set up a mentoring program.
Change the way you think about your skill sets, competencies, and how you hire people. What you were taught has changed in the last 10 years. Specifically talking about the 21st century how do we spot talent that is really going to help both in a corporate environment but also in other aspects of our lives? We're going to talk about how! This will apply to any industry!
What is career envy? How do you get it? How do you know you have it? What do you do about it? This is something we all have to deal with. It's one thing to hear this information and take it in but it's totally different to be able say "I'm not going to let this affect me."
This topic fits great into what we've been talking about lately, improving your career, making yourself more marketable and being smart in the career market space. Working with a headhunter is one of the best things you can do. They can play a very important roll not only in your future but also in the career you have now.
We all have the same issues and concerns developing a meaningful career that can also pay the bills. It makes me feel great knowing we're creating something big, giving you a place to go for help to build this dream. How do you handle your boss? Let's go one better and talk about how to boss around your boss.
