Show Description: For many people, brain maps can be quite alien and strange. What are they telling us? What do they mean? Do all these shapes and colors and symbols mean there is something terribly wrong with me? It certainly doesn’t help when you read sensationalist headlines like “This is your brain on drugs!” or “This is what happens to your brain when you are stressed!”, which only serve to make us more nervous about what is happening between our ears. In this podcast, I speak with UCLA-trained neuroscientist, top performance coach and founder of The Peak Brain Institute Dr. Andrew Hill about what brain scans an tell us about our brain, the role they play in neurofeedback therapy, how neurofeedback and brain scans can boost our performance and help treat depression, anxiety, addiction and PTSD, the myth of the normal brain, how to biohack sleep, and so much more!

Emotions are powerful; they can make us feel like the whole world is crashing in around us, keeping us feeling trapped, stuck and helpless if we don’t face or deal with them. Indeed, if we feel something strongly, it can be hard to see the wood from the trees—how do we even start to heal when everything hurts? In this podcast, I speak with The Tapping Solution founder Nick Ortner about how tapping can help us process our emotions and find healing, how it can improve our mental and physical health, how to get started tapping, the science behind tapping, how tapping can help with chronic pain, and more!

When it comes to building up our mental strength and resilience, we tend to focus too much on what we should do, and not enough on what we shouldn’t do. In this podcast, I speak with therapist, speaker and successful author Amy Morin about why it is important to be aware of our weaknesses if we want to become mentally stronger, how our bad habits can keep us trapped if we don’t identify them, how we can choose how we react to any situation, how to help our children build up their mental strength and resilience, how we can improve our mental strength during the current pandemic, and more!

The wellness world can be overwhelming. There is so much advice out there, much of which is conflicting, that it is sometimes hard to know what to do or even who to believe. In this podcast, I speak with successful entrepreneur and founder of the global wellness platform MindBodyGreen Jason Wachob about this wellness paradox, the current state of wellness industry, how to avoid wellness fads and trends, how to navigate the wellness industry so it helps, not harms, your mental health, the importance of being open-minded and curious, the best wellness advice from top experts, how to run a successful business and more!

Suicide is a public health crisis with approximately 800,000 people dying by suicide each year. It is the 10th leading cause of deaths in the US and the 2nd leading cause of death globally.
We all struggle with challenges in life, and find different ways to deal with and overcome these challenges. But what happens when our ability to cope turns toxic? What happens when our desire to survive ends up hurting us? In this podcast, I speak with therapist, author and grief counselor Kati Morten about self-harming behavior, how to identify and help someone who is self-harming, the difference between self-injuries and suicidal ideation, and what to do when someone you love is suicidal.
