EPISODE DESCRIPTION: Relationships can be tough, especially during a global pandemic! Many of us are spending more time than ever before with our partner, while COVID-19 has made it harder to connect with others if we are single and looking for a relationship. Thankfully, whether we are single, in a relationship or somewhere in between, there are things we can do now to attract the kind of love we want in our lives, as I discuss in this podcast interview with bestselling author, speaker and couple’s counselor Monica Berg. We talk about everything you need to know about healthy relationships, including why we need to rethink love, how to attract the kind of love you want, rekindling love in your life, building frameworks for lasting and fulfilling relationships, tips for single people, how to become more comfortable with change, why we need to argue more and how to argue better.

    Show Description:

Human mental health is infinitely complex. We all battle in different ways, we all struggle, and we all need to learn how to cope, process, feel and experience life’s ups and downs. The fundamental way we do this is by listening to the signals our brain and body send us, like anxiety and depression, and getting to the root of what these mental and physical symptoms are telling us about the imbalance in our life.

In this podcast I speak with holistic board-certified psychiatrist, acupuncturist and yoga teacher Dr. Ellen Vora about how it is possible to learn to understand and manage our mental health by embracing these signals and listening to what they have to say, how facing the root of our fears and anxiety helps us find true healing, what a functional medicine approach to mental health looks like, why the current system of mental healthcare needs to change, the relationship between psychotropic medication, withdrawal and mental health, and more!

When we think of genes, we tend to think about the genes we do have and the ones we don’t have, not the genes we can change. But the truth is that we have a lot of control over our genetic activity. Yes, some genes we cannot do much about, but the vast majority of our DNA listens to us: our thoughts, choices and behavior. In this podcast I speak with Harvard professor, neuroscientist and researcher Dr. Rudolph E. Tanzi, one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people and founder of the field of neurogenetics, about the influence we have over our genetic activity, how our lifestyle impacts our wellbeing on the level of our DNA, how to keep our brains and bodies young and healthy, the relationship between spirituality and science, the power of mindful thinking, and so much more!

Neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s can be incredibly frightening. The idea of losing your mind, the very thing that makes you human, is a scary thing, especially since it seems to happen more these days than ever before, and at a younger age. There is so much we don’t know about why this happens, or why Alzheimer’s is the 3rd leading causing of death in USA today. Brain diseases and cognitive decline are the last frontier: it is the area where we have been the least successful in science and medicine.

But there is reason to hope! In this podcast, I speak with bestselling author and intentionally recognised neurodegenerative diseases expert Dr. Dale Bredesen about preventing and heal neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s, why we have misunderstood the true nature of cognitive decline, how to keep our brains young and healthy, and more!
