Filmmaker and newly appointed Centrist Dad*, Luke McManus, rejoins us to discuss his latest doc, The Locals, which goes out on RTE 1 this Monday at 9:35pm and then on the RTE Player.

Luke follows the candidates for the Local Elections in Dublin's North Inner City in what was a campaign featuring a vast spectrum of political and social views across a part of the city that has great poverty and plenty of privilege. For 10 years the Public Accounts Committee, and various Oireachtas Committees, have failed to serve their purpose: holding the powerful to account. A cautious legal approach, backed up by OPLA, has led to a situation where whistleblowers were told that the Committee could “not adjudicate” on the wrongs they exposed. We say that advice is incorrect.

Joining us on the shack are two such whistleblowers, Matt McGrangahan annd Shane Corr and they have revelations (including a one billion euro clusterfuck in the Dept of Health) and questions that they feel need investigating and real answers. It’s time to abolish the lies.

We had a lot of people ask if would we do a reaction podcast to the Biden vs Trump debate, and were not that keen to be honest. But then it happened and all the worst fears about the Gone Man vs the Con Man came to life on screen. So we relented and got Colorado-Based Economist and friend of the pod, Constantin Gurdgiev on to talk through the slow moving car crash and all of the implications it has for America, the Presidency, Ukraine, NATO, the BRICS countries and the "West."

We tried to keep it light. But this was a total disaster for Joe Biden.
