  • How To Know If You Have Mindset Blocks

If you’re listening for it, you’ll hear an awkward edit right in the middle of the most emotionally compelling part of this podcast, and it’s because I had to cut out the part where I choked on my own saliva. 🤣🤦‍♀️🙄

If you don’t notice it, all the better, because this episode is a good one.

We’re talking about mindset blocks today – how you know you’ve got them (you do), how ambitious overthinkers like you and I try to outsmart them (it doesn’t work), and what to do that actually dissolves them (feel your feelings).

If you’re ready to stop saying things like, “It’s hard for me to get my goal” and see yourself, hear yourself, understand yourself, and trust yourself all the way to your goal… this episode is for you. 😘

  • Is Your Goal Too Big?

Let’s start with this: your goal isn’t too big.

But, nice as that is to hear, I know you won’t really believe it until you listen to the whole podcast, where I explain exactly what’s going on behind the scenes in your brain, why taking the “reasonable” route is weirdly harder than just going for your big goals, and how to actually feel solid, grounded and full of possibility, no matter what you want.

Questioning your goals is something that every overthinker is familiar with, and faced with all that indecision and self-doubt, lots of us give up before we really even get going.

So inside this episode, I’m sharing two actionable items you can do TODAY to start moving forward with confidence.

  • How To Stop Wasting Time

These are the notes I wrote before recording this podcast today. I am a LOT more concise in writing than I am when I’m speaking. 🤣

Either way, this is good info if you want to know how to stop wasting time, but just so you know… in the podcast, I tell funny stories, too!

    How To Stop Wasting Time

The problem: you have a Big Goal, and you know what you need to be doing to get it, but every day you find yourself not doing what it takes. You’re wasting time on menial tasks that you don’t even care about, or you’re playing games on your phone for hours when you meant to be doing other things.

The solution you’ve been trying that doesn’t work: You’re buying planners and calendars, you watch videos about productivity, you buy courses to teach you about time blocking, you vow to be more disciplined, you set timers on your watch, you block out your Google calendar, you make to-do lists, you use to-do apps, you hire an accountability coach.

These are all short-term fixes, and not long-term solutions. Inevitably, you fall back into your old habits, because none of them address what’s really going on.

What’s really going on: You haven’t decided what you want to be doing with your time, you have mindset blocks about your intended tasks, and/or you don’t see yourself as a person who can have your goal.

The real solution: Daily 3™ journaling, of course.

How it works: Future Self journaling helps you set real intentions and promises, rather than a vague idea of what you “should” be doing. Metacognitive journaling uncovers and releases the mindset blocks you have around the actual tasks. And Success journaling helps you step into the identity of being a person who has your goal.

What it will look like in real life: At first, one of two things will happen – you’ll either keep making wild promises to yourself and not meeting them, or you’ll make right-sized promises but then judge yourself for all the things you’re not getting done because you’re kind of only doing one thing a day.

But then! As you practice, you’ll get better and better at making promises, you’ll untangle the crap that’s standing in your way, and you’ll develop the capacity (by practicing it!) to do everything you want to do. Yes, you will Stop Wasting Time. Roll credits.

  • How I Start My Day For Success

“The thing that sets you up for success in your day is not just using your brain, but paying attention to your body, paying attention to your feelings.”

Question: do you have a daily routine that’s taking you directly to your goal? I didn’t used to. In fact, my old routine used to set me up for a day of disappointment instead of success. And I don’t know about you, but I prefer success. So I changed my morning routine, and now I start my day knowing that I’ll get everything done that I ask myself to do.

In this episode, I’m sharing what I do every morning, how I do it, and (the most important part) how I know it’s working.

This conversation isn’t about productivity for the sake of productivity. It’s about creating self trust and showing up in the world the way you truly want to, instead of making yourself do the things you think you have to.

My daily routine is softer, kinder, and not coincidentally, I’m more productive now than I was all those years I was trying to get everything done. If you’re looking for less hustle and more success, this episode is for you.

  • You Have Time To Get Your Goal

Okay, obviously I’m overdramatic, but before I actually wrote a book, I was legit worried that I would 💀 without writing a book (and I’ve wanted to be an author since I was seven years old).

I thought I was running out of time. I thought maybe I was too old, that the time to write a book had already passed me by, and by the way, omg, it was going to take a lot of time to write a book, and I already had too much to do in my day, every day.

Past Pahla had a lot of time scarcity thoughts!

But now that I’ve (mostly) worked through them and come to understand exactly what time scarcity is, how it’s showing up in your life right now as we speak, and what to do about it… well, that’s why I recorded this podcast.

My friend, you have time to get your goal.

And yes, journaling will help you. Listen to this episode for the practical steps of reducing time scarcity in your life, watch the Daily 3 journaling Masterclass to learn how to rewire your brain for success (total time commitment between both of these activities is around 40 minutes if you watch and listen on 1.25x speed), and then let’s get your goal.

Oooh, P.S. About ten minutes in, I mention a really old episode, called “Stop Thinking POSITIVELY,” and here’s the link: https://getyourgoal.com/podcasts/40-stop-thinking-positively/

  • What If Perfectionism Isn't a Problem?

True story: For months now, I’ve been letting AI write my podcast show notes, because I’ve been telling myself that I’m not great at writing them and a robot is better at search-engine optimization than I am.

And then when that still felt a little icky, I would remind myself that hardly anybody really reads them anyway, and it’s a lot faster than doing it myself.

But that didn’t feel especially good, either, and today - literally in the middle of recording this podcast for you - I figured out why.

I’ve been thinking about show notes from the perspective of how I’m “supposed to” write them, and what “everybody” says is the best way to do it, and whether or not the algorithm (yep, more robots!) will favor this episode.

You know what, though? F that.

MY show notes are a place where I can talk to you, directly, and let you know that this episode - in fact, this whole podcast, every episode - is for you.

    And friend, it is.

This is the episode where we examine the all-or-nothing thinking that pervades the advice of mindset and productivity coaches who want to tell you that perfectionism is always wrong.

    It’s not.

And I’m not taking the stand that it’s always right, either. There’s a nuance. Perfectionism *can* serve you, and inside this episode we’ll talk about when that is, how to tell the difference between “good” and “bad” perfectionism, and I have a couple of self-awareness questions you can use for yourself.

When you’re ready to explore, you know I’m here for it. Let’s go.

  • When You're Disappointed

We've all been there -- you ask yourself to do something and then… don’t. And disappointment just feels inevitable. But what if that feeling isn’t actually your fate? In today’s episode, I’m sharing the surprisingly simple shift that dissolves disappointment and restores your self-trust.

You know that moment when you look back at your day and think, “Why didn’t I do the thing I told myself I was going to do?” Well, in this episode, we’re taking a compassionate look at what’s really going on when life “life-s” at you and suddenly, the task you meant to do just isn’t happening anymore.

Because here’s the twist: disappointment doesn’t come from the undone thing. It comes from the belief that once you’ve made a decision, you’re obligated to stick with it — no matter what new information arises.

Today, I’m walking you through the simple mindset shift that lets you make empowered in-the-moment choices instead of silently judging yourself for not being a machine.

If you’ve ever wondered how to stay aligned with your big goal even when your day takes a hard left turn, this episode is for you.

  • What Do You Want?

So many of us think the question “What do I want?” should feel simple… but the moment you try to answer it, something unexpected happens. Your imagination narrows, your possibilities shrink, and suddenly the future feels farther away than ever. Today, I’m pulling back the curtain on why that happens — and what it really means for getting your goal.

In this "advanced concept" episode, you’ll learn the surprising way your brain predicts your future, how it quietly redirects you back to your comfort zone, and why even the most ambitious goals can start to feel heavy or impossible.

And here’s the best part: once you understand what's going on, you can work with it instead of getting derailed by it.

If you’ve ever wondered why your journaling feels flat, why your vision won’t “light up,” or why imagining your future self sometimes feels worse instead of better, this episode will shift everything for you.

  • My 6 Favorite Journaling Prompts

If you’ve ever opened your journal and thought, “Okay… but what do I even write?” you’re going to love this episode. I’m sharing six of my favorite journaling prompts — the ones I use all the time to get out of my head, untangle my thoughts, and keep moving toward my goals.

You don’t need a “perfect” journaling routine to change your life, you just need some good questions. In this episode, I’m taking you inside my Daily 3™ journaling practice and sharing the prompts that I come back to whenever I’m feeling stuck, spinning in overthinking, or needing a little clarity about what to do next.

We’ll talk about how I use Future Self Journaling to stay connected to what I want, Metacognitive Journaling to gently unravel the stories holding me back, and Success Journaling to remind myself that, yes, I am making progress.

I’ll even walk you through some real-life examples (including one where I was fuming in my car!) so you can see how these prompts actually work in the real world.

By the end, you’ll have six simple, powerful questions you can start using right away. Whether you’re brand new to journaling or ready to deepen your Daily 3™ practice, this episode will leave you feeling clear, curious, and totally capable of getting your goal.

  • What Nobody Tells You About Getting Your Goal

You know the drill: pick a specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goal. Determine your plan, and then follow through until you get it. No pain, no gain. Go big or go home. It’s all about self-discipline and willpower, everybody knows this. And that’s why, today, I’m going to share a few things that nobody tells you about getting your goal.

Most goal-getting advice sounds loud and is full of hustle, grit, and pushing through. But what if your most powerful progress comes from curiosity, compassion, and allowing things to unfold in their own time?

In this gentle, thought-provoking episode, I’m offering a new way to think about your goals — one that honors both your determination and your softness.

You’ll hear how understanding your failures, fears, and feelings can create resilience that will outlast any motivational high. We’ll talk about why “pushing through” can backfire, how curiosity leads to lasting change, and what it really means when I say you have time.
