n today’s episode I talk about why change within your company is so important. Forced change, incremental changes, cosmetic changes, and structural changes. I also talk about my R&D strategy (rob and duplicate things). When we talk about generational business owners, either they tend to do the same things and fear change, or they change things much to quickly and crash and burn. How to get your employees buy in to the new changes? What does your business do that really matters?
In today’s episode I talk about the having a board of advisors for your business. As business owners we tend to be a jack of all trades but a master of none. So when you’re trying to grow you business, the best way to take it to the next level is by hiring people who are experts, in areas where you are weak. If you need more leads, and sales, hire someone who is an experts with a proven track record to consult you. If you are weak in marketing so the same.
In today’s episode I talk about the importance of how you spend your time as a business owner. Did you know the average business owner spends 10% of their time in the past? What about the rest? Think about how much of your day passes by, and it does not go towards growing your business. As a business owner accountability starts with you.
In today’s episode I go over what branding, inside of a brand means. What separates you from other brands, and how you can learn from companies like McDonalds. The most underrated way to grow your business is by growing your community, the best brands are involved in the community. I also talk about the importance of providing world class customer service, and how that translates to growing your company.

I also talk about the day McAfee Heating and Air finally hit a million in sales, and surpassed that. Going in depth about how I took my company all the way to 10 million dollars in sales. How do you take your HVAC business from survival mode, and into “thrival mode”! One of the biggest things I have noticed coaching HVAC business owners is, the owners are not providing their sales teams with enough leads.

Question Of The Day: Do you know your profit margins?
In today's episode I talk about the history of how we go about producing content for our commercials, and our strategies around advertising. Advertising isn’t an expense, its an investment so I go a little in depth with how we at McAfee Heating and Air advertise. I also talk about our private labeling for all of our HVAC equipment. When you go into a home where we have done an install, you’ll see that all of the HVAC equipment has our name on it. I also go over if you should be working for companies like Angies list, and Home Advisor. Lastly I tell you why lowering your price will not help you grow your business.
In today's episode we cover how one of the most fun things I’ve done is disrupt the HVAC industry in my market. Are you a disruptor or a disruptee in your market? You have to change some of the ways you do business, you can’t do the same old things and expect different results. I talk about how you can still generate business in the slow seasons. One of the biggest ways I set my HVAC company apart was: corporate office feel, started 8 to 8 at the same great rate, and same day installation or it was FREE! (We never had to give anything away)
In today's episode we cover the last part of L.A.P.P (Learn, Act, Produce, and Prosper). In 2008 when most businesses were hunkering down, we were spending even more in advertising, and hiring more people. It is important to have your business setup to win when your competitors can’t capitalize on the market. A big part of today's episode is talking about debt. Don’t keep a lot of debt in your business unless it makes sense. Out of all the business owners I have coached, not many know the numbers of their business, that’s not okay. If you don’t know how to procure those numbers, you need to hire someone who can. You should always hire and surround yourself with people who know your business better than you do.
In today’s episode, I am continuing going over the L.A.P.P method (Learn, Act, Produce, and Prosper). What does your business plan look like? It should look like a roadmap of where you want to take your business. Do you have a business plan? I go over the need for designing a budget, and finding your breakeven point in your business. Also, change your mindset to a work producer. Your number one job as a business owner is to produce work for your employees. Do you charge a flat rate, or hourly rate? Are you selling jobs for your business? Are you the best at it? If you’re not you should hire someone who is.
