Why do you still want your partner after they cheated on you?
You might feel disgusted by what they did while simultaneously wanting to be close to them, sleep with them, save the relationship, or desperately feel chosen by them again. That contradiction can make you question your self-respect, but attachment doesn't automatically disappear just because you learned something painful.
In this episode, I break down why betrayal can sometimes make your desire for your partner feel even stronger, why the person who hurt you may still feel like the person you want comfort from, and how to separate genuine love from familiarity, fear, rejection, and the life you've built together.
We'll also explore an important question: If you met the version of your partner that exists today, knowing everything you now know, would you still choose them?
You don't need to stop loving someone before you're allowed to leave them. And you don't need to eliminate every conflicted feeling before you're allowed to explore reconciliation. The goal is to understand what you're actually feeling so you can make a decision from clarity rather than emotional chaos.
If you've been trying to logically think your way through infidelity but your emotions, triggers, attachment, or uncertainty still won't let go, I work with people individually to get underneath those reactions and address what's actually keeping them stuck.
