Self-sabotoge, or upper limiting, is a real-life act that will keep you from experiencing all of the wealth, success, and happiness that you want to experience. As humans we are always expanding and growing unless we intentionally stop growth. When we experience too much unfamiliar wealth, success, and happiness we are likely to unconsciously sabotage it and return to our miserable familiarity. 

The primary elements of this episode are:

• Define self-sabotage and upper limiting, and explain why humans choose the comfort of the familiar instead of the wealth, success, and happiness of our dream life. 
• Self-sabotage is often unconscious, and unless we are fully aware of our tendency to sabotage we will not understand that we are eliminating growth in our lives.
• Gay Hendricks, in his amazing book The Big Leap, explains 4 hidden barriers to success - feeling fundamentally flawed, disloyalty and abandonment, believing more success brings more burden, and the crime of outshining others. We dive into each.

Most people set goals at the beginning of a new year. But the journey to these goals is short-lived as they set them for the wrong reasons. Instead of setting goals to overcome insecurity, inadequacy or insignificance, set them for excitement, adventure and the experience of creating more in your life. This also takes looking back and letting go of the past and fully appreciating the present moment as the perfection that it is. Instead of looking ahead, choose grace, gratitude and goals which will create more wealth, success and happiness in your life and business.

The primary elements of this episode are:

• If you don't resolve and forgive the pain of the past, you will continue to create goals which try to alleviate mental and emotional stress. 
• If you don't feel the beauty and perfection of the present moment, no matter what you achieve you'll never allow yourself to feel it. 
• If you set goals which perpetuate your existing insecurity, inadequacy and insignificance, you'll continue to remain on the rollercoaster of life.

Very few people on the planet are living. Most are simply dead already, just waiting for their last breath. You can tell them apart - the wealthy and successful are stepping into uncertainty, risk, and are embracing death while the rest are simply trying to eliminate uncertainty, avoid rick, and prevent death.  Which are you?

• You don't control your first inhale or your last exhale, but you control all of your decisions and choices between them. You control how you show up in life. 
• Humans have an amygdala, a biological feature which triggers a fight, flight, or freeze response whenever we encounter an unfamiliar circumstance. 
• If you are simply living life to eliminate risk, avoid risk, and prevent your own death, you aren't living, you're dying.

Jordan Black, teacher turned entrepreneur, has enjoyed small business owner success while making tremendous transformations in his life.  He spent 10 years in public education before making the courageous leap of breaking his “golden handcuffs” to start his own business full time.  Jordan bought into the Two Maids & A Mop home cleaning franchise, opening up the first office in the St. Louis area in 2018.  He soon followed up by growing a second territory in the St. Louis region and expanding out of state by purchasing the Boulder, Colorado office and later, the South Denver office. He now resides in Colorado, with his lovely wife Carly, also a small business owner, and his two children.  Jordan enjoys the Colorado lifestyle where he can take in a beautiful hike, a good IPA and plenty of sunshine, within a short drive of his home.

Jordan’s overall mission is to seek freedom and fulfillment in his life while encouraging others to achieve the same.  He believes in personal power, manifestation and that we only need to trust life for great things to happen.  He also wants to reassure people who have spent many years pursuing one career that there are other ways to live out their vision and passions. Dan Millman is an amazing teacher and one of my favorite authors. In his book The Laws of Spirit I connected deeply with his thought that learning to want what you get is more important that learning to get what you want. I've heard similar my entire life, but this one connected deeper than ever before.

• Connect with The Way of the Peaceful Warrior, The Life You Were Born to Live, and The Laws of Spirit to connect to extremely powerful and life-changing teachings.
• Gratitude is the most powerful, magnetic, and attractive force in the universe, and when made your state of being, you'll never need to "want" again.
• What you focus on grows, so when you focus on what you have with a sense of gratitude, it will naturally expand. Focusing on what you don't have will expand that as well.
