  • Unsettled Science, “Green” Pipelines, Helping Afghans, & New TX Gov? | Koonin, McCown, Huffines
Dr. Steve Koonin, Obama’s appointee as Undersecretary for Science at the U.S. Department of Energy, joins Jacki to discuss his new book, Unsettled:  What Climate Science Tells Us, What It Doesn’t, and Why It Matters.  Koonin dispels fear with facts as he reviews the most current climate science to show that the future is far better than the prevailing narrative suggests.  With more than 200 peer-reviewed papers in relevant scientific disciplines, Dr. Koonin was a professor of theoretical physics and Caltech and now is a professor at New York University with appointments in the Department of Physics, Tandon School of Engineering, and the Stern Business School.  If your friends or family are experiencing fear or anxiety about their climate future, this book is for them!
Next, Jacki is joined by Brigham McCown, CEO of Alyeska Pipeline, supplying the U.S. west coast with the energy it needs to survive.  McCown fact checks the false narratives of fringe media suggesting that climate change is creating challenges to pipelines, which could sink into the permafrost.  Jacki and Brigham unpack the uninformed claims and give the true safety record of Alaska’s famous pipeline which is soon to celebrate 45 years of safe operation. Pipelines are safe and green.  Consider that trains transport hazardous materials safely about 99.997% of the time, and pipelines are about 50% safer than rail, with only a small fraction of the pollution by comparison.  Mr. McCown is the former Acting Director of the Pipelines and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration and is a retired naval aviator.
Then, Jacki is joined by Don Huffines, the businessman and former Texas State Senator who is running to unseat Texas Governor Greg Abbott.  Huffines discusses the problems with ERCOT, the breakdown of the rule of law at our border – a problem for the entire country – and what leadership requires in times of uncertainty, such as when a virus strikes, and a governor must show the proper respect for both public health  - and freedom.  Texas shut down during the pandemic, unnecessarily devastating the oil patch and small business.  Huffines has other ideas.  We at The Jacki Daily Show are looking forward to watching this contest unfold!
Our friends at Glenn Beck’s Mercury One rose to the occasion in Afghanistan, saving 5,100 desperate people who fled for their lives. If you would like to help, consider Mercury One which works to “liberate the captive, to free the enslaved, and to rescue, rebuild and restore the lives of Christians and other persecuted religious and ethnic minorities wherever and whenever they are in need.” Visit MercuryOne.org for more information.
Finally, friend of The Jacki Daily Show, Barbara Denson, is nominated for a Reader’s Choice Award for her children’s book, Wind Blows.  Check it out, and we recommend a vote for Barbara’s book at https://www.tckpublishing.com/2021-readers-choice-voting-page/  (page 11)  Good luck, Barbara!

  • Al Gore’s Spoons, TX Nuke Dump, Coal’s Back, HunterNation | Guests: K. Braun; T. Taylor; M. Perales
Al Gore is back, this time finding ways to stunt Africa’s growth on the basis that offering abundant, affordable fossil fuels or nuclear energy to the world’s destitute is not green. Ken Braun, Senior Investigative Researcher with Capital Research Center, and author of “Al Gore Offers Africa Electricity by the Spoonful,” reveals the sacrifices Gore demands of the world’s poor, while making few of his own.

Then, the country’s largest freshwater aquifer, the Ogallala, and the country’s largest oil & gas play, the Permian Basin, are under threat from a plan to dump all the nation’s high-level radioactive waste atop of both… and so-called environmentalists arenowhere to be found. The Texas Governor and legislature are fighting back, with both Democrats and Republicans making a rare, united front against the federal and foreign actors who are steamrolling the will of the people. Jacki talks about this disastrous plan with representatives from Fasken Oil & Ranch – attorney Monica Perales and Tommy Taylor, Director of Oil & Gas Development.

Next, yet another of Jacki’s predictions (we like to call them “prophecies,” but they’re really just common sense) has been fulfilled: Coal is back and making money. Even in its darkest days of cascading bankruptcies, Jacki opined that coal will always have a future for as long as world population continues to boom. Even the poorest countries will see increased demand for energy as they move up to a more motorized and modernized future. Countries will not starve their people or economies to meet the regressive “green” goals of the United Nations, nor should they. Until alternatives are vastly improved, coal has a future. It is dense, cheap, transportable, and quickly dispatchable at times of high demand (say, Texas in a February winter storm), which is more than we can say for coal’s overhyped “competition.” The fundamentals made this one an easy call.

Then, one of Jacki’s dreams came true as she was able to visit Ted Nugent’s Texas ranch, take in his concert from the front row, and hear from Ted and his wife, Shemane, a plan to activate hunters across America to show up to vote, protecting the culture of freedom. We at The Jacki Daily Show are conservationists to the core, as are the great Americans at HunterNation: conserving nature and conserving our heritage and inalienable rights. Every last one of us should get involved at hunternation.org. Jacki is a Lifetime Member!

  • Biden’s Oil Hypocrisy, Shocking Grid Facts, & CRT | Guests: J. Modglin; M. Mabee; E. Pendley
Got Covid? After a two-week absence, Jacki returns to the studio from her second go-round with this century’s historic pandemic and has advice that could save your life – and our economy.

Then, what is behind Joe Biden’s confusing and hypocritical approach to energy independence / energy security? Every president since Nixon has promised energy independence, but the current president seems to have the opposite goal. Jacki welcomes Jason Modglin, President of the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers, who discusses the bizarre policy of the Biden administration that makes every possible move to greatly reduce America’s oil production, but essentially begs OPEC and Russia to pump more of it. Add to this Hunter Biden’s lavish foreign oil & gas deals with Ukraine and Asia, and we see a Biden Dynasty “America Last” policy.

Next, Jacki talks with Michael Mabee with the Secure the Grid Coalition and author of “The Civil Defense Book.” Michael reveals some startling facts about foreign involvement and other vulnerabilities of our electric grid.

Are you concerned about where Critical Race Theory leads? Jacki will discuss it with Elisabeth Pendley, a lawyer and former 1960s school teacher who taught at one of the early-integrated schools in the deep south and the author of the book, “Thursday’s Children.” She reveals that there is “nothing new under the sun,” that we have been here before. She pulls back the curtain of CRT and and explains why it has no place in our public schools.

Finally, Jacki discusses two things you won’t hear much about in the mainstream media: Tesla’s ongoing problems with its “self-driving” car crashes, and the danger of wind turbines to flying species like bats and birds. Spoiler alert: If you are an environmentalist or conservationist, you will want to hear this.

  • The Status of “America First” Energy Policies | Guests: K. Edwards; K. Tahuahua; J. Isaac (TPPF)
Electric vehicles are hailed as the transportation of the future, yet battery technology remains primitive. Jacki points out that even the newest, “fast charge” stations require a half-hour of charge time. Most charging stations require hours. Cross-country travel remains out of range for most electric vehicle owners.

Jacki also shines a light on why we need more truth-in-advertising for “environmental, social, and [corporate] governance” investments (“ESG”).

Then, Jacki talks with Kirk Edwards, President and CEO of Latigo Petroleum, about the Permian Fuels America campaign to pressure Gulf Coast refiners into an “America First” policy, preferencing U.S. oil over foreign oil.

Plus, Jacki welcomes Katie Tahuahua with the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Life:Powered initiative, to discuss the Biden administration’s ongoing flouting of the law to reverse Trump-era environmental policies without going through the proper legal processes.

Finally, Jacki talks with Jason Isaac, director of the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Life:Powered initiative, who explains why reversing the Trump administration’s policies, particularly on methane, will not meaningfully improve our environment. Methane is a greenhouse gas, but not a pollutant. Regardless, the U.S. is already a world leader in clean air and water.

  • Gas Prices Could Derail Government’s Attack on Fossil Fuels | Guests: Hilbert, Droz, Ginn, PhD
Rising gasoline prices might be the one thing that could stop government overreach to punish U.S. production of oil, gas, and coal. History shows that a president’s popularity plummets when the price of transportation fuels rises to a certain level, inevitably raising the price of all goods. Jacki predicts that if history can be our guide, a quiet policy change could be coming soon.
Plus, Jacki will talk with Kurt Hilbert, former counsel for President Trump, to discuss what is really going on with the Georgia audit. Also joining the conversation is John Droz, a physicist who assembled a group of experts in cybersecurity, IT, mathematics, and other disciplines to examine election processes. Droz explains that no state has had a full forensic audit and why mere recounts or “risk limiting audits” are not anywhere near a comprehensive forensic audit. Most pundits using the word “audit” seem to not know what the word actually means or the many standards that must be met to assure a credible result.
Opinions are changing fast, with capitalism losing popularity and socialism gaining - especially among the young. Vance Ginn, PhD, the immediate past Associate Director for Economic Policy at the Office of Management and Budget (Executive Office of the President) and now Chief Economist at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, discusses the trends with Jacki and how to turn the tide.

  • More Power Outages in America’s Most Energy-Rich States – Guests: Robert Bryce & Chuck Devore
When your state gradually replaces energy sources that produce nearly 100% of the time with those that produce around 30% of the time, it is not difficult to imagine the results. It looks a lot like Texas in February. Author and journalist Robert Bryce talks with Jacki about the perils of electrifying the economy and his book, A Question of Power: Electricity and the Wealth of Nations. Bryce’s work reminds us that countries with a poor energy supply are guaranteed to be impoverished, and that does not change until they have access to reliable energy.
Everyone has heard about the Texas legislators who fled the state to avoid doing their jobs. Chuck DeVore, Director of National Initiatives at TPPF explains how we can know that they will be back soon.
California had another outage, this one releasing 17 million gallons of sewage into the ocean. The Director of the Life:Powered Program at Texas Public Policy Foundation explains why an energy-rich state like California has no excuse for outages and what can be done to solve the problem.

  • ‘Sue and Settle’ Legislative End-Run is Back; Keystone Pipeline $15B Suit | Guests: C. Wright; M. Luttrell
A 15-billion-dollar lawsuit has hit the Biden Administration after it cancelled the Keystone XL Pipeline. The Canadian developer claims massive damages from the reversal of the Trump policy to finish the pipeline… which was a reversal of the Obama policy. After more than eight years of study and hundreds of meetings with state, local, tribal, and federal officials, the developers had their contracts destroyed when Biden killed what was the most advanced and safely designed pipeline to date; the pipeline would have delivered crude with a tiny fraction of the carbon emissions of the alternatives (Buffet’s crude-by-rail or crude-by-truck). Pipelines have a safety record that is 50% better than crude-by-rail, which delivers hazardous materials safely from point A to point B literally 99.9% of the time. Is the pipeline cancellation really about the environment and safety? Or a continuation of killing U.S. energy security?
Climate change is real, and mankind plays a role, but is this a problem? Will climate change bring economic disaster? Is it an existential threat? Resoundingly “No,” according to Steven Koonin, the former Undersecretary of Science in the Obama administration’s Department of Energy. He recently released Jacki’s favorite new book, “Unsettled: What Climate Science Tells Us, What It Doesn't, and Why It Matters." Koonin proves that sea levels are not surging, and that hurricanes and tornadoes have not become fierce and more frequent. Koonin is the author of more than 200 peer-reviewed articles in physics and climate science, and a professor of theoretical physics at NYU’s Department of Physics, Tandon School of Engineering, and the Stern Business School. Jacki highly recommends this book.
Can the judicial branch bend the executive branch to its will? Yes. “Sue and Settle” is back. When fringe elements of an activist movement cannot get their way legislatively - through the people’s representatives - they forum shop for judges sympathetic to their cause.  Activists sue friendlies inside the Biden administration … who then settle. This is an end run around the legislatures and a clear violation of our federal government’s separation of powers, with judges usurping the legislature’s lawmaking function. It is the judiciary’s job to say what the law is - not what it should be.

Then, Jacki talks with Chris Wright, CEO of Liberty Oilfield Services, a large hydraulic fracturing (“frac’ing”) company, whose ESG report is one of the few that properly gives credit to the oil and gas industry for lifting people all over the world out of poverty. Liberty’s ESG report should be a model for all oil and gas companies.
Finally, Jacki discusses cybersecurity with Morgan Luttrell, retired Navy SEAL who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Luttrell is running for Congress in Texas, and they talk about how hostile nations can mount a cyber corps to attack the vulnerable economic underbelly of the United States.

  • What is Driving Your Retirement Investments? Politics? Or Returns? | Guests: J. Isaac; B. Peacock; H. Ludwig
Is it legal for banks to engage in a group boycott of fossil fuels?  Can your retirement fund manager “play politics” with your money, divesting from fossil fuels to save the climate with “green” investments – even if returns will be lower? Jacki talks with Jason Isaac, director of the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Life:Powered Initiative, which just launched a landmark white paper explaining many ways that a company or fiduciary could be held liable for letting politics guide their investments.  Plus, the two discuss what you can do if you think you have been on the receiving end of this unlawful behavior.
Who funds anti-fossil fuel activist communities?  Hayden Ludwig is a senior investigative researcher at the Capitol Research Center, Jacki’s go-to source exposing activism dollars. When so many U.S. energy and environmental policies seem to favor Russia, China, and OPEC, one wonders whether those countries play a hand in funding the activism … or whether the movements are home grown.  Ludwig breaks down American sources of funding.
Finally, Texas and other states have experienced a spike in power outages that Jacki predicts will become the new norm as unreliables  - like wind and solar - become a greater share of the grid feed.  “Unreliables” (a term borrowed from the prescient Alex Esptein) generate between 0 to 30% of their capacity – depending on the day’s weather.  Many states (CA, TX, PA, etc.) are sitting atop  all the oil, gas, or coal they need, yet fail to power homes and businesses – endangering lives – by mandating use of energy sources that do not work when needed most during extreme weather.  Jacki discusses the problem with energy markets expert Bill Peacock, founder of ExcellentThought and the immediate past vice president of research at the Texas Public Policy Foundation.

  • Carbon As An Asset, Not A Liability; BLM, EVs, Life Span | Guest: W. P. Pendley
Federal land is rich with oil and gas that could decimate our national debt and trade deficit. Jacki discusses this topic with William Perry Pendley, the former acting director of the Bureau of Land Management. Pendley also talks about his decision to relocate the agency’s headquarters from the D.C. swamp to Colorado, moving the bureaucrats into the environments where they can actually experience first-hand the issues and people they oversee.
Then, in a recent “60 Minutes” interview, Sir David Attenborough said a “crime has been committed” because fossil fuels have “poisoned the earth” – never stopping to note that fossil fuels make possible human population growth, extended life spans, modern sanitation, and basically everything that modern life requires. He calls on everyone to make sacrifices. Jacki breaks down Attenborough’s one-sided worldview and what is really hostility to others enjoying the long life (95 years old!) and lavish, fossil-fueled lifestyle he enjoys as he jet-sets around the world.
Next, experts finally acknowledge that electric vehicles could likely have a higher carbon footprint than traditional internal combustion engine vehicles. Jacki balances the conversation on electric vehicles and explains that an electric future is as yet out of reach due to a scarcity of raw materials needed to manufacture them.
Finally, the social cost of carbon is portrayed as a great innovation to save the planet. The concept is calculated from unsubstantiated prognostications far into the future that are difficult to accurately assess or counter. Jacki explains why the Texas Public Policy Foundation opposes carbon pricing and what you can expect coming up from the Biden administration.

  • The Biden-Putin Meeting – Oil & Gas Should Have Been America’s Trump Card
Because of the frac’ing revolution, the U.S. became the #1 producer of oil and gas, plunging the price of both commodities, threatening the survival of countries like Russia that rely almost exclusively on oil and gas revenues to make their budgets. The Biden administration is making every policy move possible to destroy this geopolitical trump card, killing U.S. pipelines, while giving the Nord Stream 2 a sanctions clearance as a gift to the Kremlin. Hunter Biden’s questionable deals in Ukraine and Asia were energy deals. Why are the Bidens doing everything they can to boost foreign oil while destroying American oil producers? Why was smart discussion of oil and gas nearly missing from the Biden-Putin meeting when we know it is Russia’s thumbscrew? Jacki talks in depth about the Biden administration’s inability to understand the intersection of oil & gas and geopolitics, undermining U.S. interests, including our energy stability. Then, leaders at the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Life:Powered initiative predicted an energy crisis this summer. They will almost certainly be proven right. Texas authorities are already warning Texans to start conserving energy. Why? Because reliable energy sources like nuclear, coal and natural gas that can produce 100% of the time are being steadily replaced over time with mandates for unreliable sources – wind and solar – that produce only about 1/3 of the time. Jacki explains why outages are not a February storm one-off event, but will instead become the new norm unless policy changes dramatically.
