It can be all too easy at times to focus on our needs rather than the needs of the person we're trying to persuade. We become so wrapped up in trying to get what we want that we forget to listen. We forget to ask questions. We forget to humanize the person we're speaking with. This is where most of us go wrong!
In this episode, I discuss this pitfall along with ways to overcome it with my special guest, Sergio Jimenez. Enjoy!
A little bit about Mr. Sergio Jimenez:
"Sales-born in the gym industry at 17. Moved on to sell cars, made $13k my 2nd full month as a car salesman. Broke dealership record by being promoted only 3 months after starting. Became the youngest F&I guy in the state at 18. Became the youngest sales manager in the state at 22.
My side hustle the entire time was roofing contracting. I would land projects and sub them out, pocketing 40% margin without hammering a single nail.
Eventually, my side hustle outgrew my main hustle and I quit entirely to start my roofing company. We now employ over 40 people including 3 separate divisions of sales teams such as: Commercial, Residential Retail, & insurance-based restoration teams.
I am now 26, "working" 8-noonish, with all the time that I need to pursue my childhood dreams of making it as a screenwriter & filmmaker in Hollywood."
