The Jason Stapleton Program

Megan Kelly has been fired. Not that it matters much to her. She's still going to get paid the balance of her 69 million dollar contract with NBC.

The rub is WHY she was fired. After making an offhanded comment about blackface during a discussion about political correctness at Halloween, Kelly faced an internet backlash that prompted an apology the following day.

I had intended to ignore the entire circus but when she was fired I knew I would have to say something.

This is a great show today. We deal with some hard issues. Hope you enjoy!

I'm not one to go in on conspiracy theories or claim a false flag has been raised but I've got a lot of questions surrounding the "explosive devices" that were sent to several high-level Democrats today.

I'll run through my thoughts with you today but any time something like this happens this close to an election it raises my BS meter.

We'll also talk about the future of FB. There's a new book out suggesting Facebook may be headed for disaster. I think its author is WAY out of his depth. You decided.

Yes, yes, every once in a while (read daily) the government gives us another reason to question why we give them so much money. Today we've got a great example of government waste. This time in the Air Force.

The specially designed coffee mugs keep your cup of joe piping hot while you're commuting to and from the drop zone but they come at a cost. Since the government has strict regulations about what can be plugged into an aircraft these technological marvels must be custom made. Hence the ridiculous price tag.

It's a mad world out there. Don't lose your head.

I've got a couple of great economics lessons for you today. The big one will be on the taxi medallions market which has collapsed with the introduction of Uber and Lyft. There are a lot of cab drivers who make huge investments in this corrupt government attempt to control competition and now they're losing everything.

I also want to talk a little about the difference between self-interest and selfishness. I think you'll find the discussion inspiring and motivating.

Enjoy the weekend!

As a podcaster sometimes you can feel like you're talking into a black hole. Sure if you say something controversial the sabar rattlers will come out to challenge your ideas but most of the time you deliver your best stuff and then get crickets.

But every now and again you're reminded of just how much of an impact you are having and I have to say it's soooo fulfilling.

A couple of days ago I got a letter from a listener and today I'm going to read it to you. I hope it inspires you the way it has me.
