On July 10, 2026, an 83-year-old Ontario woman who had told her care home that MAiD conflicted with her Christian faith received it anyway. Her family was in the room.In the second part of this investigation, the family members who were there describe in their own words what they saw: the ten days while her power of attorney was away, the Monday confrontation, the capacity assessment they sat through before being sent out of the room, and the morning of July 10, when they say the doctor proceeded without the verbal yes they had been told GG would have to give.This is the family's account. The care home and the attending physician were contacted in writing, with a deadline, and did not respond. Canada is finally building a national monument to the Afghanistan mission, more than a decade after it was first announced.As an Afghanistan veteran, I want that monument. I want somewhere permanent for families, veterans, and future generations to remember the more than 40,000 Canadians who served, the 158 Canadian Armed Forces members who died, the seven Canadian civilians who died, and the thousands who came home changed.But Ottawa has now decided that a land acknowledgement should also be incorporated into the memorial, with reporting cited in the script putting the translation cost at nearly $30,000.

The U.S. defence secretary posted a photo from a Canadian cadet training centre this week and Canada spent two days arguing about whether it was rude.Nobody read the order.In 2024 the Canadian Armed Forces rescinded the COATS Health and Physical Fitness Strategy and removed the mandatory requirement for Cadet Organizations Administration and Training Service members to complete the FORCE Evaluation, the Fitness for Operational Requirements of Canadian Armed Forces Employment Evaluation. In the same four-paragraph order, the CAF reminded those members to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle as a positive example to the youth in the Cadet Program.

Four years after the Freedom Convoy, Canadians are still learning how far the federal government's response may have reached.Newly reported federal records obtained by Blacklock's Reporter indicate that information connected to Freedom Convoy participants was circulated through Ontario's financial regulatory system to somewhere between 1,000 and 2,000 brokerages and other firms.Earlier records had already shown information being shared with dozens of financial institutions, associations and securities regulators.Now the obvious question is: how far did that information ultimately go — and where is it today?
