It’s time to lift the lid on the zimmer frame.  Tim shares his brave story of courage and inspiration, perhaps a pain tolerance unlike any other.  For The 2024 70.3 World Championships in Taupo it feels a little like Lucy Charles withdrawing from Nice, it simply takes the edge off the great race, but that’s life and it’s up to other now to triumph on the big stage.

We catch up with 3 Koa Sports athletes, Ben Walker the winner of the naming of the Official Koa Sports Beer Mile Lager, ‘Knows Beers’.  Leith Austin new to the athlete roster attended the Cairns Beer Mile as a spectator, but upon watching Greg and Tim narrowly avoid arrest decided this was his tribe, welcome home Leith.

The Founder of ‘west is best’ Gloria Nock chats about the group that continues to grow and her pathway to Taupo in just a few months’ time.

Tim Ballintine (AUS) and Rob Dallimore (NZ) co-hosted IRONMAN Kona qualifiers for IRONMAN Oceania on October 2nd for the athlete webinar on behalf on IRONMAN.  Coach Tim a 3 x Hawaiian IRONMAN (14,17,22) according to IRONMAN “his expertise and experience are unmatched”, what a boon.  Koa Sports will have 35 starters in 2024, the largest coached athlete team in the world.  

The coaches take you through the experience of the island, getting around, how to handle race week, a full course preview and plenty of stories with plenty of mayo.  If you’re racing Kona in 2024 or dreaming or starting on the big island, this episode is for you.

The Men’s IRONMAN World Championships is set to take place on October 26th in Kona, Hawaii, the home of the biggest day in IRONMAN racing.

We can’t help but have one more sniff of the success rag and reflect on the Geelong, Port Macquarie, Cairns, and Sunshine Coast IRONMAN and 70.3 titles won in 2024, as Tim was told directly to his face during the week ‘you’re arrogant’.  Which we respect.

Welcome to the Koa Sports Studio! 

IRONMAN Sunshine Coast 70.3 has been run and done for another year and “Koa Sports took out first place with a hefty lead”, as reported by IRONMAN.  A successful defence of the 2023 title, coaches CF, Greg and Tim break down the day of a few athletes and offer a great recommendation for a toasted cheese sandwich for race day in future.

CF is running 100km on October 12th in THE OX for RUN DIPG to help find options for patients, families and communities impacted by the most lethal of childhood diseases, Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Giloma (DIPG).  If you can spare a few dollars, please give generously.  Go to CF’s insta pages to find the link to donate.
