There’s nothing more Hollywood than dropping a prequel that dives into the backstory of a secondary character from Fury Road.
That said, there’s plenty to like in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. George Miller wisely avoids the pathologically stupid trap so many modern movies fall into — pretending that “strength” for female characters means acting like a hyper-masculine badass. Instead, Furiosa survives and triumphs by being skilled, tough, resourceful, and clever — not by magically out-punching people twice her size.
100% worth a watch, even if it’ll probably be largely forgotten in six months.
