We are sharing all about Glymed Plus peels on today's episode! First, what is a peel? Peels can improve texture and scarring, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, reduce age spots, melasma, and PIH, strengthen the skin, keep it hydrated, helps most types of acne, improves dark spots under the eyes, and more! Glymed Plus has amazing products and we specifically love their peels! Here are a few of our favorites that we share all about:
Peptide Perfection Peel: Filled with 5% lactic acid, 5% mandelic acid, 5% malic acid so you are getting brightening, lifting, firming, peptides, and it lifts and calms the skin. Perfect for an instant glow up for a same day event or next day event.

Oxygen Peel: Made up of 5% lactic acid and oxygen. Helps with dullness, kills bacteria and helps with congestion. This is a good supportive peel that can be used with a variety of masks. We specifically love it with the deep pore cleanser.

Lactic Action 30: Filled with 30% lactic acid and calming herbal extracts. Good for brightening, tightening, hydration, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, increasing skin elasticity, and reducing pigmentation.

5-Berry Pigment Control Peel: Made up of 7% TCA and 5 natural berries: cranberry, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, and bearberry. Perfect for acne, anti-aging, and hyper-pigmentation, with the reparative, protective, and anti-aging benefits of the berries.
Peels are a perfect addition to your winter skincare routine! Keep in mind that peels need a good at-home routine to help prepare your skin and always be using SPF on your skin! Congratulations! You are pregnant! Now comes the question we get a lot from moms to be; what is safe for me to use? This episode we are going to talk about what ingredients to avoid, alternative ingredients that are great, tools and ingredients that are safe to combat hormonal acne, and treatments that are safe for pregnant moms in our studio. Because we all know being pregnant is a miracle of life; but a lot of times hormonal acne, hyper-pigmentation, and other issues can arise.

How to Make: Pour Sparkling Apple Cranberry into glass, add 1 tbsp apple butter and stir and serve.

This week, we talk about all things rosacea! The exact cause of rosacea is unknown, although a number of possible factors have been suggested, including abnormalities in the blood vessels of the face and a reaction to microscopic mites commonly found on the face. There are still a lot of theories around it being an auto-immune disorder. Overall though, 415 million people in the world are affected by it!
There are four subtypes of rosacea:
Subtype 1: Erythematotelangiectatic Rosacea vascular rosacea: Red areas of skin on the face, sometimes small blood vessels are visible.

Subtype 2: Papulopustular Rosacea inflammatory rosacea: As well as facial redness, there are red bumps (papules) and pus-filled spots (pustules).

Subtype 3: Phymatous Rosacea: The skin thickens and may become bumpy, particularly on the nose.

Subtype 4: Ocular Rosacea: Symptoms that are centered around the eyes.

Drink of the episode: The Autumn Elixer Cocktail
Ingredients: Autumn Elixer cocktail mix from Golden Fig in St. Paul, vodka, club soda, cinnamon, sugar, and caramel.
How To Make: Dip the rim of the glass in caramel and a cinnamon/sugar mix. Pour the Autumn Elixer mix over ice, add 1 shot of vodka, and top with club soda. Stir and garnish with a cinnamon stick and dried apples.

We are excited to share our updated virtual consult menu with you in today's episode! We moved our virtual consult booking system to Calendly, which has allowed us to streamline the booking process on a straightforward platform.

Types of Virtual Consults Available -
Virtual Skincare Consultation (30 min): Perfect for new clients with any skincare concerns outside of acne (i.e. rosacea, aging, finding a skincare routine, etc).
Virtual Skincare Follow Up (15 min): For current studio clients or current virtual clients who have need a consult due to change in skin concerns, need an adjustment in their current skincare routine, or who have a few additional questions.
Virtual Acne Bootcamp (45 min call - 4 month program): A Face Reality skincare program designed with a goal of clearing 90% of acne by the end of the 16 weeks. In addition to the first call, there are 2 follow ups, as well as bi-weekly check ins.
Bridal Skincare Consultation (45 min): A great option for brides who can't come in studio, or brides who want to get a jumpstart on their bridal skincare journey prior to coming into the studio.
Mentorship Consultation (45 min): For other estheticians who are looking for mentorship in the industry. This can cover anything from starting a career as an esthetician, opening a studio, social media help, or starting a podcast to different skincare lines and backend business information.
