If you've been around for a while, you know this is a space where we get honest. We don't do surface level here. We talk about what's actually happening in our hearts — and today, that means we're going somewhere that feels a little tender for a lot of us.
We are kicking off a brand-new three-part series on marriage.
And I want to start by telling you something important: this series is not for perfect marriages. It's not for people who have it all figured out. This series is for the real ones — the messy ones, the quiet-and-disconnected ones, the ones where you've wondered if you made the right choice, where you've felt more like roommates than partners, or where you've done real damage and aren't sure if there's a way back.
This series is for you.

Here’s your invitation for this week:
Sometime in the next 24 hours, give yourself a brain dump session.
Set a timer. Let it out. Look at what’s there. And notice how you feel afterward.
You might even make this a weekly habit—your Monday morning reset or your Friday evening wind-down.
However it works for you, know this:
You’re allowed to put things down.
You’re allowed to take care of your mind.
And journaling—even in messy, scribbled brain dumps—is a powerful way to do that.

Today’s episode feels especially tender and meaningful because I’m sitting down with my daughter Claire Shields to talk about becoming a new mom.
And honestly… I don’t think we talk enough about the inner transformation that happens in motherhood.
Not just the diapers and sleep deprivation — but the becoming. The stretching. The refining. The joy and hard that can coexist at the same time.
I think so many women listening will see themselves in parts of this conversation whether you’re currently raising babies, have grown children, are longing to become a mother, or are simply in a season where God is reshaping you through caregiving and responsibility.

Today’s episode is going to feel a little different—because I want to take you inside a real day. Not a polished one. Not a “quiet time with coffee and my journal” kind of day…
…but the kind that starts unraveling before the sun is even fully up.
And I want to show you what it looks like to journal…without a journal. In the middle of your day, just pause and ask:

It’s the end of the month, so let’s talk today about something that will absolutely change the way you grow, the way you lead yourself, and the way you create results in your life.
And it’s this:
Evaluation.
Now I want to start here—because this matters.
Most of us hear the word evaluation… and what we actually feel is… pressure, disappointment, or maybe even shame
We think evaluation means: “Let me go back and see everything I did wrong.”
But that is not what we’re doing here.
In this room… in this work…
We are not judges.
We are scientists.
30-Day Evaluation Framework (use page in planner)
1. What worked well for you over the past month?
What wins or breakthroughs are you celebrating? What results—expected or unexpected—did you experience?
2. What didn’t work as well as you hoped?
Where did you feel resistance… or find yourself holding back?
3. What will you do differently next time?
4. What are you most proud of?

Part 8 of Confidence Series:
As we close this series, I want to leave you with this:
Confidence isn’t found in having all the answers. It’s built by returning—again and again— to what truly matters.
And then having the courage to live from that place.

✨ What could be possible for you… if the next time something didn’t go as planned— you allowed yourself a 5 second funeral… and then kept going? Listen in to hear how this played out lately for me! I hope it encourages you too!
What could you create? Who could you become? What confidence might grow… just from not quitting?

Part 4: The Confidence Series
How to Feel Confident Before You Actually Are
You don’t have to do this alone
What if confidence isn’t something you have to build all by yourself?
One of the most powerful things I’ve learned is this:
You can borrow confidence while you’re building your own.
You borrow it from truth—who God says you are. And you borrow it from safe, wise people who see what’s possible for you… even when you can’t yet.
That’s exactly what coaching provides.
A space where someone: • Reflects truth back to you • Believes in you before you fully believe in yourself • Helps you move forward—even with doubt, fear, or resistance present
You don’t have to wait until you feel confident to start. You just need a place to practice showing up.

Part 3 Confidence Series:
The Secret to Confidence No One Tells You About
What if resistance isn’t the problem?
What if the thing you’ve been avoiding… is actually the doorway to your confidence?
Resistance shows up every time you step into something new— and most of us either fight it or avoid it.
But what if you learned to work with it instead?
Here’s the reset I use on repeat:
Regulate. Reframe. Remember the next small step.
When I started my podcast, I felt so much fear and overthinking. But instead of quitting, I learned to move with the discomfort.
And that changed everything.
Confidence isn’t built when things feel easy— it’s built when you keep showing up even when they don’t.

Part 2: The Confidence Series
The Weekly Habit That Made Me Way More Confident
What if confidence isn’t something you wait to feel… but something you build?
It starts with how you plan your days.
When your confidence is rooted in Christ, you can begin to live with intention— and your calendar becomes a powerful tool.
Here’s what I’ve learned: 👉 Your calendar reveals what matters to you 👉 When you honor your plan, you build trust with yourself 👉 Confidence grows when you follow through
I plan my week ahead of time, choose what matters most, and then… I show up and live it.
And that simple rhythm? It has changed everything.

Welcome to The Matriarch Mindset Podcast—for women who are ready to take responsibility for the influence they carry and become more fully who God created them to be.
I’m Kendall Snyder,…
Being the matriarch isn’t about age, status, or controlling the room. It’s about learning to lead yourself well, love your people deeply, and recognize the ripple effect of how you think, feel, decide, and dream.
We’ll talk about faith, marriage, motherhood, family dynamics, relationships, emotions, health, business, big dreams, and the everyday moments where you get to ask:
Expect practical coaching tools, honest conversations, biblical encouragement, and plenty of real life.
Because the matriarch isn’t becoming someone else. She’s becoming more fully who God created her to be. ❤️🩷
