About Dr. Kayla:
Dr. Kayla, founder of Empowered Physical Therapy, is dedicated to improving women's pelvic floor health. Graduating from the University of Rhode Island in 2016, she developed a passion for pelvic floor physical therapy after experiencing her own issues with leaking during heavy weight lifting. This inspired her to create a practice that addresses disparities in women’s health.
Dr. Kayla specializes in helping women through various stages of life, including pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause and menopause, by combining her expertise in pelvic floor therapy with a strong orthopedic background and a love for strength training/nutrition. Her holistic approach ensures comprehensive care for all her patients.
When she’s not working, Dr. Kayla enjoys the gym, coffee, playing with her border collie Ella, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Did you know there is a space between all your thoughts and feelings, and YOU? The part of you that can notice, witness all the thinking and such, but just be with it? Not engage, just observe? I wish I had known that, and in this letter to myself (which is to you, too!) I go into details of what I mean/paint the picture. I hope it helps open your mind to a way of being during postpartum that is different, and possibly what you need, or at the least: helpful.
