My guest today is Lori Miller! She is a quilter, pattern designer, and national quilt educator from Oxford, Michigan. With a career in IT software for 25 years you can imagine why she enjoys the design process and why one of her favourite tools is EQ8 Quilt Design software. She teaches EQ8 classes around the country and writes Lessons With Lori for the EQ blog. As an Accuquilt GO! Getter, she shares tutorials and patterns of her designs on the Accuquilt blog as well. Today's podcast is a great conversation about how she combines these two products for the perfect mix of precision and creativity. My guest today is Ana Buzzalino. Ana Buzzalino is a creator, maker, fibre and mixed media artist, surface designer, teacher and lecturer. Her love of layers and texture combine in her original work. Her work has won numerous awards at national and international shows. In 2019 Ana was honoured as Quilter of Distinction at Heritage Park 24th Annual Festival of Quilts. She has been featured in numerous magazines, TV Shows like thequiltshow.com, - too many to mention! But most notably - her work has graced the cover of 4 issues of Quilting Arts Magazine, and she has appeared in 5 seasons of Quilting Arts TV. In her workshops, she helps quilters, textile and media artists find their own voice in their work.

My guest today is a renowned quilter from the picturesque town of Torquay,  Australia. If you’ve taken a workshop with her, you’ve likely danced around the house for days. Her designs are instantly recognizable with a seamless blend of traditional and contemporary design and she has made significant contributions to the quilting world. She draws inspiration from her travel adventures and the natural beauty of her surroundings in her homeland.

Jen is known for creating quilts with intricate patterns, vibrant colors, and playful designs. Hand stitching is her passion and sharing the knowledge and techniques of this age old, mindful craft brings her great joy.

Her work has been featured in popular magazines an exhibited in shows around the world and she has also won the very prestigious Raja Award in 2023 at the Australasian Quilt Convention.

As we follow several quilts from design to completion, audiences will come to know these men, witnessing their struggles, triumphs, and sense of pride as they create something beautiful in this windowless, sacred space, deep within the prison walls. Through this process and the relationships forged we witness the power of art to restore an individual's view of themselves and others. Today we'll chat QuiltnLearn with Bea Byrne! Between her career in tech/events and her love of textiles/quilting, Bea Byrne realized that organizing and hosting online conferences in the quilting world is her jam. Having planned knitting events in the UK, and toured around travellers to crafty spots when she lived in Japan, to her recent guild show committee work where she lives now in the USA, Bea has a passion for “if you build it they will come” with her online events.

There were so many great takeaways from this episode about an event planner bringing together quilters in a way that welcomes everyone from those who want to purchase the VIP experience to those who want to binge watch the free event while it’s happening.
