  • Szoboszlai stunner sees off Arsenal, as Man City are beaten at Brighton again

Jimbo welcomes Daniel Storey, JJ Bull and Tim Spiers into the fray after a weekend of significant action in the Premier League.

It’s a low-key clash between last season’s top two, settled by an incredible Szoboszlai free-kick for Liverpool. Are Arteta’s Arsenal still too negative in big games?

Back-to-back defeats for Man City, as Brighton make it Pep’s worst ever start to a season. Has City’s air of invincibility gone forever?

Elsewhere on Sunday, there are impressive away wins for West Ham at Forest and Palace at Villa. Are Unai Emery’s goalless side the new crisis club in the Premier League?

  • Totally Extra: Nicolas Anelka…misunderstood?

On this week's Totally Extra, Jimbo is joined by Julien Laurens, Duncan Alexander and Michael Cox to celebrate the career of the famous French prodigy/journeyman - Nicolas Anelka.

His footballing CV is unique - from Clairefontaine academy and PSG to Mumbai City via 6 Premier League clubs, and spells in Spain,Turkey and Italy.

Famed for his blistering pace and a penchant for rounding the keeper, but also for his regular fallings out with managers around the globe, resulting in his nickname 'Le Sulk'. He won leagues, cups and a Champions League with Real Madrid but many feel it could have been much more for the frontman that Henry said was better than he was.

Produced by Jesse Howard and Charlie Jones.

  • Amorim’s Man United knocked out by Grimsby, as Arsenal head to Anfield

Jimbo's joined by Duncan Alexander, Tom Williams and Colin Millar to take stock after a night of pure drama at Blundell Park as Manchester United suffered the indignity of being dumped out of the League Cup by League Two Grimsby Town.

We dial up a Mariners fan - actor, presenter and comedian Lloyd Griffith - and The Athletic's Manchester United reporter Laurie Whitwell to discuss the extraordinary scenes in Cleethorpes as Ruben Amorim's side plumbed new depths.

Then we turn out attention to the weekend's Premier League action - headlined by the small matter of Liverpool v Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday afternoon. How will Liverpool's defensive chaos match up with Arsenal's more measured approach to these big games?

Elsewhere, can Tottenham continue their eye-catching start to the season under Thomas Frank when they host Bournemouth? Which Man City will we see at Brighton? And just how bad are West Ham ahead of their trip to the City ground on Sunday?

All that plus - age gap passes, minimal touches, cubic roots and chicken dinners.

Produced by Charlie Jones and Lucy Oliva.

  • Another Barca remontada & McTominay still leads the way at Napoli

Jimbo’s joined by Julien Laurens, Pol Ballús, Seb Stafford-Bloor and James Horncastle for your weekly dose of football chatter from across the continent.

We begin in Germany, where Bayern Munich got their title defence underway in emphatic fashion with a 6-0 thrashing of RB Leipzig. Harry Kane picked up where he left off last season, scoring a 13-minute hat-trick to take him to a ludicrous 65 goals in 64 Bundesliga games. Not such good news for Erik ten Hag’s Leverkusen though - beaten 2-1 by Hoffenheim at the BayArena.

In Ligue 1, despite the chaos off the field Marseille found some unity on it to beat Paris FC 5-2 at the Vélodrome, while PSG recorded another narrow 1-0 win as their underwhelming performances continued. Olivier Giroud stole the headlines with a 91st minute winner for Lille against Monaco - the 350th goal of his professional career!

Over in La Liga, there was late drama as Barcelona fought back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Levante. Meanwhile Real Madrid made it two wins from two themselves in far more comfortable circumstances at newly promoted Real Oviedo.

And there were plenty of intriguing scorelines in the first week of Serie A - including Inter’s 5-0 rout of Torino, Max Allegri’s Milan beaten 2-1 by the promoted Cremonense - and KDB kicking off life at Napoli with a goal in their 2-0 victory at Sassuolo - but he'll have to go some way to take Scott's crown...

    Produced by Lucy Oliva.

    RUNNING ORDER:

    • PART 1: Unsatisfactory sausages & moments of the weekend (00.45)

    • PART 2: Bundesliga review - Kane just scores goals - and Leverkusen just look bad (11.35)

    • PART 3: Ligue 1 review - Marseille chaos continues as Giroud rolls back the years (24.55)

    • PART 4: La Liga review - Barca stage yet another comeback as Real start strong (35.05)

    • PART 5: Serie A review - Inter look angry while McTominay still wears the crown (48.05)

  • Spurs expose Man City again, and Dowmania at Arsenal

Jimbo has Daniel Storey, Adrian Clarke and Mark Carey for company after an absorbing second weekend of the Premier League season.

Tenacious Tottenham make it two wins out of two with yet another victory away to Manchester City. Just how far can Thomas Frank take this side?

Arsenal thrash Leeds 5-0 with Viktor Gyökeres grabbing his first goals for the club. But it’s the debut of 15-year-old prodigy Max Dowman that has everyone talking.

Everton debut at their new stadium with a 2-0 win over Brighton. Tom Williams was there for us.

Nuno makes noises about trouble at Forest but his side battle back to draw at Selhurst Park in the CASico.

And what next for West Ham after Graham Potter suffers a home drubbing against his former club Chelsea?

Plus Morecambe’s special day and Coventry City - xG destroyers.

    Produced by Charlie Jones.

    • PART 1: Nuno Forest fallout? (01.00)

  • Totally Extra: A deep dive into Jurgen Klinsmann

This week on show no.2 of your new Saturday morning helping of Totally, Jimbo opens the footballing almanac on Jurgen Klinsmann's page.

The German striker made his Premier League debut for Spurs on this week in 1994, and Jimbo gets the band back together - Raphael Honigstein, Juliens Laurens and James Horncastle - to remember the first Jurgen of English football.

Famed for his blond locks and his spectacular goals but most memorably on these shores, for his diving for Germany and the subsequent celebration for Spurs. He won the World Cup and the Euros with Germany and had successful spells in Italy and France as well as in his motherland and the Premier League.

Produced by Jesse Howard and Charlie Jones.

    RUNNING ORDER:

  • Eze set for Arsenal not Spurs - will Isak end up at Liverpool?

Jimbo's got Natalie Gedra, Jay Harris and Dom Fifield along for the ride as we look ahead to Matchday 2 in the Premier League - and discuss some rather hefty transfer news that might have caught your eye...

That's right - it looks like Tottenham have been gazumped to the signing of Eberechi Eze by their old friends Arsenal... yikes! So does this mean that the Gunners really do have all the tools to win the Premier League? And where do Thomas Frank's Spurs turn now with a squad that looks ill-equipped to deal with the pressures of a busy schedule?

There's tasty ties everywhere you look this Bank Holiday weekend - no more so than Monday night at St James' Park as Newcastle host Liverpool. What's the latest with Alexander Isak after Tuesday night's statement tête-à-tête?

Elsewhere - there's more beef to be had between Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest at Selhurst. Is Graham Potter already in big trouble against former side Chelsea on Friday night? And what sort of Tottenham will turn up at Manchester City - with Pep's side having won just 1 of their last 4 against the visitors at the Etihad?!

All that plus big waterslides, calamitous defending at Ibrox and a potentially sticky start to life at Hill Dickinson Stadium for the Toffees.

Produced by Charlie Jones and Lucy Oliva.

    RUNNING ORDER:

    • PART 1a: Eze on his way to Arsenal - not Spurs (02.30)

    • PART 1b: Newcastle v Liverpool preview - the latest on the Isak and Wissa transfer sagas (12.00)

    • PART 2a: Man City v Tottenham preview (21.15)

  • Can Trent’s Real win back La Liga? And will Napoli retain their title?

Jimbo’s got the Euro gang back together as Julien Laurens, Pol Ballús, Seb Stafford-Bloor and James Horncastle return for a new season of hijinx and drama across the continent.

We begin in France, where underdogs PSG got their title defence underway with a 1-0 win away at Nantes on Sunday night. But is there anyone who can close the 19-point gap? And are Marseille already in self-destruct mode?

The Liga season is well and truly underway, with holders Barcelona getting their campaign off to a winning start against the nine men of Mallorca. Real don’t play until Tuesday night - but how equipped are Xavi Alonso’s new-look side to topple Barca?

Over in Italy, we’re in store for yet another fascinating title race. The news that Romelu Lukaku is set to miss the first three months of the season with a muscle strain could open the door for a challenger to Napoli’s crown. So will it be a resurgent Milan or perhaps Gasperini’s Roma that put up the greatest fight?

And in Germany, Harry Kane’s won another trophy! Bayern take home the Supercup. While there are still some areas of concern for Vincent Kompany’s side - have the teams around them done enough over the summer to produce a title race?

    Produced by Lucy Oliva.

    RUNNING ORDER:

    • PART 1: Welcome back! Just not in French… And moments of the weekend (00.50)

    • PART 2: Ligue 1 review - PSG off to winning start - Marseille are not (08.55)

    • PART 3: La Liga review - Barca the favourites ahead of new-look Madrid? (21.00)

    • PART 4: Serie A review - Lukaku injury blow opens up the title race? (37.00)

    • PART 5: Bundesliga review - Who can challenge Bayern’s crown? (56.30)

  • Arsenal’s Old Trafford victory, Man City’s depth & Liverpool’s chaos

The Premier League is back and so too are Jimbo, Daniel Storey, Adrian Clarke and Matt Davies-Adams to take in all the Matchday 1 action.

Arsenal have their backs against the wall at Old Trafford but come away with all three points. But are there reasons to be cheerful for Ruben Amorim?

Man City breeze past Wolves at Molineux as we all consider the players Pep didn’t even have at his disposal. And champions Liverpool secure a dramatic victory over Bournemouth. Are Arne Slot’s side far too open?

There are big wins for Sunderland and Forest which are impressive but might tell us quite a lot about West Ham and Brentford.

Plus Eze, Richarlison and Birmingham’s perfect winning goal.

    Produced by Charlie Jones.

    RUNNING ORDER:

    • PART 1: The Premier League is back! (01.00)
