    Friday will see holders Argentina take on Cape Verde, Australia v Egypt, while Colombia take on their former manager Carlos Queiroz.

    Spain help eliminate Uruguay, allowing Cape Verde to progress to the next round. Nick Miller was there in Houston.

    And Belgium and Egypt also go through while Iran have to wait a bit longer after a crazy conclusion in Group G.

    The Tartan Army have to play the waiting game after defeat to the Selecao in Miami.


    Jimbo is joined by Duncan Alexander, Tom Williams and Phil Hay on the sofa in LA after Day 14 of the World Cup.


    A 3-0 loss for Scotland leaves them hoping to be one of the best 3rd placed teams. But the margin of defeat puts that in doubt and raises questions about manager Steve Clarke.


    South Africa’s shock victory over South Korea propels them into the round of 32 and reduces Scotland’s chances of qualification too.


    Bafana Bafana will play Canada in the round of 32 on Sunday, after the hosts lose 2-1 to Switzerland. Meanwhile Bosnia are look almost certain to play USA after their young guns down Qatar.


    Maher Mezahi watched Morocco progress to the next round after being a scare by Haiti while Ben Mabley is in Osaka looking ahead to Japan v Sweden.
