The Triple Option

Nobody cares about Special Teams, until it loses you a game.

Urban Meyer, Mark Ingram II, and Rob Stone dive right into a wild weekend for special teams with Georgia Tech taking down Clemson, Tennessee missing a game winner, and Notre Dame muffing a hold. They then debated if the SEC runs through Athens and if the Vols came out on top of the Nico-Aguilar trade. (1:31)

Mark then named his THREE Dawgs of the Week, bestowing Texas A&M's Marcel Reed, Georgia Tech's Haynes King, and Aggie receiver Mario Craver (16:20). We then opened the floor for LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly to Sound Off! after their win over Florida. Rob and Coach then debated if he was on the right or wrong side of that conversation. (21:37)

The Ringer's Todd McShay stopped by and talked about the top Quarterbacks in this year's draft class including Garrett Nussmeier, Cade Klubnik, John Mateer, and more. (33:05)

It was then time for Three and Out, with Urban naming his Top Three Big Ten Quarterbacks, Mark dubbing the three he's most impressed with, and Rob gets you up to speed on the three you need to know. (51:33) They wrapped with the 2-Minute Drill, picking Illinois-Indiana, Utah-Texas Tech, and Oklahoma-Auburn. (1:00:08)

Two weeks and two Florida colleges pull massive upsets!

Urban Meyer, Mark Ingram II, and Rob Stone are joined by South Florida head coach Alex Golesh after the Bulls took down the Florida Gators for their second ranked win in as many weeks.

Then we had a first, a kicker being named Deuce Deuce Dawg of the week. You read that right, Iowa State's Kyle Konrardy got the honor after his game winner over rival Iowa. The guys then talk post game sprints after Syracuse's Fran Brown made the Orange do up downs until they were no longer tired or thirsty. They then took a look at the hot seat and if the age of massive buyouts is on the way out.

The guys then ranked the top three conferences in this week's rendition of "Three and Out", look away if you're a fan of the Big 12. They then hit the 2-minute drill, making their week 3 picks between Florida at LSU, Texas A&M at Notre Dame, and Georgia at Tennessee.

What happens when you have a MASSIVE week 1? You get not one, but two guests!

Urban Meyer, Mark Ingram II, and Rob Stone are joined by Florida State head coach Mike Norvell right after their huge upset of eighth ranked Alabama. Mark then gives his take on his alma mater before the guys break down Ohio State's defensive masterpiece against top ranked Texas. #HornsDown

They then go "Three and Out" with their top performances of Week 1 with Coach going heavy on the coordinators from Ohio State, Florida State, and LSU, while Mark sticks with the top players, and Rob gives you a little bit of everything, including some love for Dave Portnoy?

We can't live completely in the past because we have a rivalry game in Week 2 and are joined by Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell to talk #CyHawk and how he was on Urban's staff for a couple days. We then hit the "2-minute Drill" picking the top games of week 2 including Michigan at Oklahoma, Iowa at Iowa State, and Kentucky vs Ole Miss.

The focus of Sound Off this week is none other than friend of show, Northern Illinois head coach Thomas Hammock after his passionate plea to remember the point of college athletics. (24:44) The guys then take the temperature of the SEC, Big Ten, ACC, Big 12, and Notre Dame after an offseason of change off the field. Who really is the dominant conference? (31:09)

What's the greatest College Football game of All Time?

Urban Meyer, Mark Ingram II, and Rob Stone are joined by three College Football Hall of Famers to make the case it's the 2006 Rose Bowl. Representing the Texas Longhorns, former head Coach Mack Brown and Quarterback Vince Young, while Heisman winner Matt Leinart carries the water for the Trojans. All three look back at the lead up, key moments, and the after effects of the 41-38 Texas victory.

Mack sticks around to go down memory lane on some of the things he saw over the years as coaches tried to circumvent the rules, he and Urban's relationship, and what the future holds for the sport he has spent his life in.

Since it's the final episode before the season starts, the guys revisited their February championship picks during the Crystal Ball. Not to spoil anything, but #HookEm.

Contract negotiations? Fines for lost gear? Breach of contract? Is it the NFL? Nope! It’s the new age of college football.

Urban Meyer, Mark Ingram II, and Rob Stone talk about the latest issue at Michigan as Jim Harbaugh, Warde Manuel, and former president Santa Ono were named in a lawsuit against a former assistant. The guys then discuss the rev share contracts that Florida State is reportedly requiring their student athletes to sign in order to get paid. Spoiler: there will be lawyers.

What do schools need to navigate these deals and roster construction now? A General Manager. Oklahoma’s GM and former Senior Bowl Executive Director Jim Nagy joins the guys to discuss his relationship with Brent Venables, how he and his team are assigning dollar value to current and prospective players, and why Norman was the right fit for him.

It’s 4th of July and you might not know it, but Mark likes to blow things up. The guys discuss their weekend plans before looking into the Crystal Ball at Coach Prime and Colorado’s 2025 outlook. No Shedeur, no Travis Hunter? No problem for the Buffs.

Is two months before the season too soon to talk trash?

Urban Meyer, Mark Ingram II, and Rob Stone talk about Thomas Castellanos taking shots at Alabama after transferring into Florida State. Urban gets into some of the top moments he used bulletin board material including the Michigan "Revenge" Tour that fell one stop short of being completed.

Illinois football has had 10 wins just a few times in their school history and that's what Bret Bielema did last year. So what's next? The head coach of the Illini gets into what makes this team special, his past run ins with Urban, and...his singing voice? You're not going to want to miss it.

The 2024-25 college athletics season concluded over the weekend, but how close knit are athletes and coaches from other sports? According to Mark and Urban, extremely, including one story on how Billy Donovan helped set up Florida for their first championship under Urban. Speaking of Florida, what can Carson Beck and the Hurricanes accomplish this season? The guys look into the Crystal Ball. #ItsAllAboutTheU
