Compassion is a beautiful human quality.

It opens us into deeper experiences of love, intimacy and gratitude.

Receiving compassion from others can be just the medicine we need when things get tough.

Compassion feels good in the body and like a balm to the soul.

To give it and to receive it elevates us into the realm of human spirit.

When compassion enters the room it's like a deep exhale.

And a candle in the dark.

When someone offers us true compassion we feel seen.

Like we matter.

We feel connected.

We feel cared for.

Compassion soothes the loneliness of life.

And brings a sense of camaraderie and belonging.

We shift out of fear and survival mode and relax into safety, healing and recovery.

Compassion is powerful medicine.

It brings out some of our best qualities.

Studies have shown that compassion is a natural human instinct.

That it's vital for good health; the survival of our species even.

And yet it can be so challenging to gift it to ourselves.

Am I right?

We all know that feeling...

Uncomfortably numb.

We're so good at showing up and functioning in the most stressful and chaotic circumstances. 

Most women I know are masters at it.

While this strategy of overriding our feelings and our bodies to do what needs to be done helps us adapt and survive, it's not a long term solution.

When we go numb, we can't selectively numb.

And there's a cost.

A significant cost.

Happy Mother’s Day weekend!

On the one hand, it’s a beautiful celebration of motherhood and on the other… well, it can bring up a lot.

It’s layered.

It’s complex. 

What I’ve found to be incredibly healing and empowering on my own journey as a woman, as a daughter and as a mother is to connect with the true power of mother.

The Creatrix

The Great Mother within.

The womb.

The womb is not just about fertility.

This goes far beyond the biomedical definition of Uterus.

The womb is our chalice; our personal Holy Grail, our source of our creative life force and personal power.

The womb by design can be a portal into boundless bliss and ecstasy.

And our chief source of confidence in our intuition and oracular guidance.

But it often doesn’t feel that way.

The good news is that we can change that.

When we clear the stored emotion, stress and trauma (of course it’s generational) we reclaim the true radiance of the womb; the Creatrix.

Beauty is a loaded topic isn't it?

Brings up a lot.
