Welcome back to The Yoga Connection Podcast with Jamie and Bobbi! In this episode, we explore the power of letting go—both in life and in yoga. Inspired by Mel Robbins' Let Them theory and the yogic principle of Aparigraha (non-attachment), we dive into how these concepts overlap and what they teach us about releasing control, trusting our own path, and embracing freedom.
But first, in Mat Chats, we're catching up on life: Bobbi shares about a busy week and Jamie reflects on celebrating Will's birthday at Big Cedar and creating new family traditions.
Then, we break down Mel Robbins' Let Them theory—how it encourages us to stop trying to control other people's perceptions, choices, or behavior—and her Let Me concept, which reminds us to give ourselves permission to be who we are. We connect this to Aparigraha, the yogic practice of letting go of attachment to outcomes, expectations, and external validation. Both approaches lead to a deeper sense of peace, clarity, and authenticity.
We also discuss real-life inspiration for this topic, including Jamie's recent experiences in YTT and personal reflections. Plus, we leave you with journal prompts to help you explore where you might be holding on too tightly and how you can practice letting go.
Other highlights in this episode:
• Pose Wars: Malasana vs. Supine Twist—Jamie says Malasana for sure!
• Wellness Wins: Jamie's decision to work part-time this summer and Bobbi's deep, meaningful connection from the retreat.
• Weekly Intentions: Jamie's commitment to unplugging on vacation, and Bobbi's determination to stick with a tough (but rewarding) liver cleanse.
• Announcements: YTT enrollments for 2025-2026 will be opening soon!
Tune in for an inspiring conversation about releasing what doesn't serve you, stepping into your own power, and embracing the freedom of letting them—and letting go.

Mat Chats - Keri recommitted to her yoga practice and this strength is showing up throughout her business and family. Bobbi is knee deep in operating businesses and Namaste is on FIRE with new student growth. Jamie shares how grateful she is for family friend connections.
Keri found yoga through a friend, took one class and dove straight into yoga teacher training. She quit her corporate job, decided to be a full-time yoga teacher and opened a studio. These transitions opened doors and eventually transitioned her into growing and thriving in her coaching business. If you're interested in learning more or working with Keri, head to her podcast or check her out on instagram.
Keri shares how important a personal practice is for new (and seasoned) yoga teachers. Awareness and discipline can help reduce burnout and get clear about what you want for your teaching. New teachers - be okay with messing up and give yourself grace to develop and build confidence. Also, be okay with holding silent space and humanizing the yoga experience.
Keri loves pigeon, a morning practice and she loves the Carl Jung quote, "Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will rule your life and you will call it fate."
