Adoption Story (0:00:00)
Every year, over a hundred thousand kids are put up for adoption by their birth parents. Many of them grow up without ever knowing who their birth parents are. And the question of who they might be always remains. But in recent years, meetings between birth parents and adult adoptees have become more common according to adoption experts, partly thanks to family history sites like Ancestry.com. So, for National Adoption month we have with us two special guests that are here to share their unique and amazing adoption story. From the perspective of both the birth mother and her adopted child, Mary Pat Young and Darcey Huish will share with us their journey of reuniting after 28 years, how they met, what has transpired since their reunion, and how their lives changed.

Homeschooling like an Expert (0:36:06)

Here to help guide us in our homeschooling questions and efforts, we’ve invited Anne Crossman, the founder and CEO of Home School Expert, on the show.
Black Friday Car Deals (0:52:50)
Black Friday can be a nightmare sometimes. There are so many crowds of people that it can be too much of a pain to even participate (although this year might be a little different...). But there are also so many great deals! Especially for those items that are typically out of your price range and only Black Friday can justify your purchase of them. One of those big investment purchases you can find deals on this time of year is your next car. Here to share the best deals we can find on cars this Black Friday is Jim Sharifi, the managing editor of U.S. News and World Report’s Best Cars team.
Getting Better Sleep (1:12:23)
Everyone knows getting good sleep is vital to staying healthy, but are we actually that good at it? Roughly 1 in 3 adults don’t get the recommended amount of sleep each night, and overtime the negative side effects can be drastic in how we feel and move. However getting a good night’s sleep is about so much more than simply getting your 8 hours in each night. Today we get to speak with Dr. William Healy, an assistant professor at the medical college of Georgia in divisions of pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. We will be talking about how we can change our perspective on sleep, talk about different sleeping disorders, and learn how we can all get the best night’s sleep every night.
Holiday House Refresh (1:27:39)
The days are shorter, the nights are colder, and autumn is coming to an end. We’re leaving behind the season of crunchy leaves on the sidewalk and going into the season of snow on the sidewalk—to our kid’s joy but to the dismay of those who have to shovel them. But the change of seasons calls for more than just breaking out the snow shovel and ice melt. It’s also a time for a house refresh as we enter winter and the holiday season. Here to discuss with us a house refresh entails and her tips to do it right is friend of the show Carrie-Ann Rhodes.
