On Today’s Episode, we discuss the spin-off to the anthology series American Horror Story (AHS), American Horror Stories (AHSies). The key difference: the spin-off doesn’t retain the same storyline past one or two episodes. The segments are self-contained, like Black Mirror, or Into the Dark, or Solos.

This marks the second Ryan Murphy show we’ve reviewed after Ratched. 

“Drive In” – the third episode of this first season, written by Manny Coto and directed by Eduardo Sanchez, is about a film that turns people into zombies.

Based on a hit True Crime podcast and inspired by the terrifying true story of Dr. Christopher Duntsch, Peacock's Dr. Death (starring: Joshua Jackson, Christian Slater, and Alec Baldwin) kicks off its first episode presenting the audience with the aftermath of one of Duntsch's botched surgeries. 

It doesn't get lighter from there. This is not a feel good story with any discernible silver lining. Still, we highly recommend you checking it out. Why recommend such a dark show about an egomaniac? You'll have to listen to our review to find out! 

From the creators of Despicable Me (Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio ), The Secret Life of Pets, and Bubble Boy – the Musical, comes Schmigadoon starring Keegan-Michael Key and Cecily Strong. If it wasn’t rated PG and didn’t and star a bunch of comedians, a story about an interracial couple getting stuck in some unmapped town with strangers obsessed with the 1940s sounds like a horror trip. Especially after the interest for shows like Them and Lovecraft Country have skyrocked in no small part because of Keegan-Michael Key’s best friend, Jordan Peele. That said, Schmigadoon! promises to be a light, farcical parody of early Broadway musicals. Does it deliver? Tune in to find out! 

Given her family's prospective move from LA to India in the coming weeks, high school sophomore Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) says YOLO to ethics and decides to date two guys at the same time without their knowledge. John McEnroe's narrates the series like some omniscient telepathic Tennis God, and the situational comedy and witty banter make it a lot better than some of Netflix's cheesier teen romcoms. TBS anthology series Miracle Workers starring Daniel Radcliffe and Steve Buscemi premiered its third season last night. With two new showrunners, no source material guide them, and a setting shift to the wild west, we'll discuss what worked in this first episode, what didn't, while spouting out some weird facts we learned along the way. Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal's 2018 movie Blindspotting was a critical success despite tepid results in the box office.  From Fruitvale Station, to Atlanta, to Masters of None it has been compared to an increasing medium of work that takes a hard look at societal issues (gentrification, incarceration, race). The television adaptation sticks with the Oakland centric storyline, but focusses on Ashley, played by Jasmine Cephas Jones.
