Town Meeting, a Gilmore Girls Rewatch Podcast

Created by Emily, Lisa, and Sandra

We're sharing an update as we enter those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer. We'll be back to wrapping up season 4 soon! In the meantime, join your library's summer reading program (or see if you can get your Book-It personal pan pizza) and let us know your thoughts and feelings about the end of the season.

Welcome to the bits! I'M SORRY!! There was a thunder storm when we recorded and my (Emily) audio was not the best, all of the apologies. Lisa tries to have Emily get extra points on the summary, Sandra is a bit short on references this week so we do something a little different this time, Emily goes over a movie that is very...of it's time, and Lisa fills us in on the history of self help books. Oh, and the link to the buzzfeed quiz in in our bio!

Bring on summer! For the hosts at least. In the Gilmore world Lorelai is apparently meeting cats with bad intentions, and in the real world we are all NOT having existential crises over our ages now vs our ages when we first watched the show. We get some short but sweet Kirk this episode, and it's amazing. We discuss what the term "beard" refers to, we get the fantastic scene of Luke buying some books from Andrew. Or maybe...he brought in his own books to buy? Glen does make his final transition to potential serial killer, we get another appearance of Jess, and Luke FINALLY sees her face. Tune in this week for Luke Can See Her Face!

Welcome to the bits! We discuss the 90's band that walked so emo could run, Emily discusses a book about seeing things from different points of views, and Lisa fever dreams an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond, and also fills us in on nerd culture in the early aughts. And yes, the first bachelorette (Trista, not Trisha), is still married! Join us this week for the bits!

Divorce, lawsuits, and indefinite hotel stays. This week we get the fallout of last episode's explosion.

“It’s Shakespearean…” insurance might not be, but this episode definitely was and in honor of that Emily discuss some timely Shakespeare political dramas. Sandra gives us a rundown of who the Marx Brothers were and what was up with Kirk's yell in the town square, YEAH! And we delve into some real life family business intrigue and ultimate sibling rivalries. Join us this week for the bits!

Was this title supposed to be "Girl's gone wild, guys doin the twist?" Sandra fills us in on a very popular 90's/early aughts actress, Emily actively avoids a political book in favor a kind of warm book, and we get an absolutely TERRIBLE book from Lisa. Seriously, don't even read this unless it's for the terribleness. Lisa throws a trigger warning in there, skip about 40 seconds if you want to avoid the mention entirely. Emily's silence to Lisa's retelling of this book, is one of pure "what in the actual uppercase F?" Join us this week for the bits!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! It...is...cold. Both in real life (at least for the 2 of us in the midwest), and in the Gilmore Girls world. We get the iconic "tie your tubes, idiot," quote from a rather aggressive Paris this episode, we do have a spoiler for Veronica Mars, learn the rules of spring break, get some major ick events, and have an unexpected towns person of the week. Join us this week for the episode discussion of Girls in Bikinis, Boys Doin' the Twist!

On the bits this week, we go over some plagiarizers (and their downfalls), The Crimson Petal and the White (and it's lore), and the Social Registry (and it's exclusiveness). Join us for the last episode of 2025 before we come back on January 8th, 2026!
