The team sound off on their childhood/first celebrity crushes. Leisel has been confronted by her neighbours about her recent behaviour. Liam and Spida give their two cents on antisocial behaviour and what they think about Leisel’s allegations. Spida is travelling with his dad for the FIRST time and Vegas is on the cards. He gets some advice from the listeners about travelling with parents. The ABGC’s is nearing completion, but not without some difficulty. The nerves are building. Spida Sprays T-shirt tags… Really earth shattering journalism. At one point he even tells the team to “think about everything!”

Producer George has written something in the notes on his phone, in his sleep… It is pretty abstract! The team unpack it. Surf Reporter Reg Presad was found face down in the water after a cardiac episode in the surf. Lifeguards worked on him for 40 minutes before bringing him back. He is in studio to reflect on the experience, thank the lifeguards, paramedics and hospital staff, as well as to share a message about the importance of first aid training. Liam has been researching the careers of Leisel and Spida by the numbers (the broadcast viewing numbers). They are surprising! Some of them at least… It’s the 35th anniversary of the Wiggles, a love-hate relationship like no other band. Finally, the song has been selected for the GC Phonetic Alphabet song. Now the hard part – singing the thing!

Leisel moved her TV and realised it is now in full view of the neighbourhood kids. It wouldn’t be a problem unless she was watching a very raunchy TV show at 3 o’clock in the afternoon… We hear other GC stories about what has been seen through the GC’s windows. ABC of GC’s is back underway with the hunt for a song ON - some great suggestions, but they are making the team more nervous for their performance. Leisel Likes the One Euro Dream Instagram of the Aussie mates that bought a dilapidated house in Sicily, under the conditions that they have to renovate it. She could use them around her house, to finish off the reno’s. Finally, Liam goes full sad-dad mode when wishing his daughter a happy 10th birthday. 10 years of “dad-ing” all comes together in a very emotional (blubbery) tribute to his little girl. Cute!

The team is back and reflecting on the Logies’ Top 10 Australian TV shows of all time. Leisel starts the week angry with a Facebook Marketplace time waster. Spida’s dad had an encounter from the other side, with a spooky electronic glitch on Spida’s late-mother’s birthday. We also hear from a listener about their encounter from beyond the grave! Experience Gold Coast CEO, John Warn, joins the team in studio to look back on a huge Pacific Airshow weekend + Liam has let his new big car go to his head, becoming a curb mounter in no time at all…

SUNS AFLW debutant, Sunny Lappin, joins the team in studio ahead of their first home game on Saturday. The up-and-coming local star is pumped to take the field with plenty of new names on the SUNS roster. Liam gives his Child of the Week, including an awkward moment with his wife at a kids’ party on the weekend. She was asked about “why she doesn’t like God”, by a 3-year-old! Spida has some Gold Coast Gossip about the golf scene & recent outrage of older players, directed at the young golf crowd not respecting the etiquette of the game. Apparently, clubs are considering the age restrictions of their members! Finally, Leisel has found the Merriam-Webster Time Traveller & gives a rundown of the team’s birth year words. Go online and find the words that first went to print in your birth year!

Spida’s favourite month of the year is September & this year Gold Coast was promising a big one. He cancelled all of his plans, only to be left disappointed, lonely and bored, as both Gold Coast teams bow out of their competitions. He also got bailed up yesterday at the post office about the “mile high club” chat on yesterday’s show. An older lady was yelling at him across the post office about her experiences as a member of the “club.” Spida was squirming & then she calls in to chat more! Liam heard about a fantastic holiday disaster involving orcas and crying children. The kind of memories that stay with kids for a lifetime! Finally, Leisel is ready to make her official ruling on EV’s after having hers for a couple of months. Safe to say, its not such a glowing recommendation…

The team is back and ready to shake up the Light Rail. They have decided that the existing voice over needs a revamp & put forward their audition tapes. Liam takes the role very seriously, Spida struggles with the speaking part, and Leisel goes totally rogue. After Brett the Hostie’s Mile High admission, another former flight attendant calls in to talk about times she caught people in the act, in the sky! Leisel throws down the gauntlet with a strong accusation about the new office neighbours. Apparently, the ladies’ toilet has noticeably more skiddies since the new tenants moved in & Leisel is sick of playing cleaner. Finally, Spida moved a fridge as a favour, thinking it was a 15-minute job. 5 hours later he was still slaving away. A listener calls in to tell a similar story, when some blokes thought they could get her car un-bogged in a jiffy, and ended up in the mud with her, all day.

One of the biggest boxing promoters in the world, Eddie Hearn, joins the team in studio to chat about the Australian boxing landscape and upcoming heavyweight fights at the Star. Brett the Hostie’s stories from the sky kicks off with a brutal cat story, prompting some calls about sad (and maybe a bit funny?) pet deaths. Leisel had a realisation in New Zealand about exactly how single she really is + Tom Tate joins the show to talk Airshow, Light Rail promises & more.

The team is happy to be back from their holidays, hanging out with the GC once again! Leisel starts off the Question of the Day, asking if the team think they would have survived the Titanic. As usual, they get very sidetracked! Spida found two dog turds on his nature strip and caught the culprit on camera! To share online and shame, or not to shame, that is the question for the Gold Coast! Amanda in Coombabah calls in to tell Spida to share the footage, but blur the dogs out for their privacy because it’s not their fault! Leisel almost lost a friend after a Siri voice to text kerfuffle, involving road rage and many expletives. She’s not alone, with Liam getting himself in some text message hot water over the break as well. Liam also has a flash new car, but it’s made him realise something about his father that is troubling him. Leisel has a recommendation for plane exit rows, implementing a strength and mobility test at check in! This came after an old lady was in the exit row on her plane, who definitely would not have been useful in an emergency. Arm wrestle challenges for seats!

Last day of the show for 3 weeks! Big plans for the holidays, but not before a big day on the show. Leisel has always dreamed of being on A Current Affair and thinks something has finally happened to her that might make the cut! ACA reporter Maggie Raworth joins the show, to give Leisel her professional opinion about Leisel’s pitch. The World Cup is getting close to its climax, with Argentina and Spain in the big dance. One of the truly amazing stories is a 20-year-old photo of Lionel Messi and baby Lamine Yamal, who are now facing off in the game! Messi as the 39 y/o veteran, arguably the greatest ever, up against the 19y/o Spanish sensation. Liam breaks down the chances of all those things lining up and it’s truly astonishing! The GC Phonetic Alphabet has been getting more love and the “W” spot has been especially popular for a new Gold Coast business – the Wee Nibble Café in Nerang! Leisel couldn’t believe the cost of a mum’s groceries yesterday, but some listeners call in to give their weekly grocery budgets… Finally, over the holidays Spida has been given a gift from Sheree – two books that promise to make him return as a completely different man. We will believe it when we see it! See you all in a few weeks!
