TS TV: A Twin Peaks Podcast

Season 1 goes out with a bang, with as much capital-p Plot as almost the rest of the season combined. Jacoby gets the shit beaten out of him! Coop catches weaselly Jacques Renault, with the help of Andy’s surprisingly straight shooting – but then Leland kills him! Andy’s gunplay gets him a conversation with Lucy, and she’s pregnant! Leo burns the mill down, with Shelly and Catherine in it! Then he gets shot – again! James gets grilled by the cops after listening to Laura’s tape with Maddy and Donna! Catherine and Pete kinda make up! Hank is a piece of shit to Josie, but at least he shot Leo! Nadine tries to kill herself! Audrey may have bit off more than she can chew with her “do sex work at the high concept brothel her dad secretly owns” plan! And to wrap things up, somebody shoots coop!!!! WHAT AN EPISODE!!!!

Dale Cooper becomes the world’s first cop to not try to sleep with a high schooler. Audrey pursues her investigation, following the trail from the Horne store perfume desk to One-Eyed Jack’s. Donna, James, and Maddy disguise Maddy as Laura to lure out Dr. Jacoby, but they’re being followed by Bobby, who’s being followed by... someone?

Also: a history lesson on the sick freak who invented motion pictures, and a (pretty long) tangent on Officially Catholic bouncy castles. We recorded this before Pope Francis died, but hope he's bouncing with Jesus now.

DISCO ELYSIUM SPOILERS TALK 2:33-11:51

The Log Speaks! The Investigation makes headway both mundane and uncanny, finding out that Jacques Renault was managing advertisements for both Laura and Ronnette in Flesh World. In terms of the spirit world, however, the log is now ready to speak, and reveals potent clues about the night of Laura's murder. The boys then find TWO cabins, the second containing the scene of at least some of the crimes done to Laura.

Meanwhile, the Icelanders are coming, Leland tries and fails to be normal, Audrey gets deeper into both her investigation AND Dale's bedsheets, James and Donna team up with Maddy even though James is sad that is mom is a slut, Bobby has a no good very bad therapy session, Josie is on some double triple scheme shit, and, say it with me folks, LEO JOHNSON GETS WHAT HE HAD COMING!!!!!!!

The investigation continues apace as Sarah Palmer's vision, a bust on Jacques Renault’s apartment, and bevy of birds answer some questions and raise even more. Not to be left out of the investigative frenzy, Audrey and Donna both vow to uncover the truth behind Laura's death themselves. Meanwhile, Coop gets some Boys Time in with the Gun Boys, the plot to burn down the mill heats up, Bobby is up to no good, and Norma's husband Hank is up for parole, despite his insistence on ominously sucking off a domino….

After last week’s crazy cliffhanger, Cooper announces almost directly to the camera that his dream contains clues that will solve everything, but also that he forgot the most important part. As a sign that he has become a bona fide citizen of Twin Peaks, the Bookhouse Boys invite him into their secret club dedicated to fighting the evil in the woods. To that end, they’ve kidnapped a French Canadian. Laura Palmer’s funeral inspires the men of Twin Peaks to punch each other. Meanwhile, Audrey uses a secret passageway to spy on her family, Josie fears for her life, Norma’s husband might be out of jail soon, and Leland is really breaking down, unconsoled by the appearance of a mysterious niece… but doesn’t she look almost exactly like Laura Palmer?

With the help of his colleague Albert and the power of throwing rocks, Dale makes some stunning advances in the case. Meanwhile, Ben Horne is a goofy dipshit, the bozo boys get a scare from Leo, Josie does some snooping, and Nadine scores huge.

Also: two delicious waters, a surprising amount of Elden Ring talk, and a plea from a cat named Mushroom :)

Dale and the viewer find a smattering of potential breadcrumb clues to Laura’s death, which raise more questions than answers, seemingly implicating Bobby, Leo, a mysterious one-armed man, Ben Horne, Doctor Jacoby, and/or a guy Sarah Palmer sees in a vision?

This is the first episode of TS TV DVD, the bonus show that will be out once a month on our Patreon! This first episode is going out to everyone as a special treat :)

We talk about hit transgender film I SAW THE TV GLOW! We both really liked it, but also both walked away with some criticisms. We dig into what works for us, what doesn't so much, and also we end up sidetracking into talking about which indie musicians we do or don't like for like 20 minutes. That's podcasts baby !!!

p.s. keen-eared listeners may find a Clue that we recorded this right before costar jack haven announced their name change lol

The bucolic logging town of Twin Peaks is rocked by tragedy when the town sweetheart, Laura Palmer, is found dead, wrapped in plastic. As those who knew her (which seems to be everyone) reel from this crime, another victim is found alive, but in shock. Over the course of a busy 90-minute pilot, we spend... maybe surprisingly little time with FBI agent Dale Cooper as he begins to unravel the mystery, and a lot of time meeting the enormous cast of characters that comprise Twin Peaks.

Also: Georgia O'Keefe, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and Big Beautiful Buff Boys Barking.
