Iconic rapper Tupac Shakur, in his lyrics and persona, foreshadowed his own violent end. Tupac’s bold, brash and fearless demeanor earned him a legion of fans, but it also made him a target. Whether intentional or not, Tupac's “thug life” mantra blurred the lines between Hollywood gangsters and real ones, a threshold from which there was no turning back.

Now, nearly 30 years after the prolific rapper was gunned down in a hail of bullets near the Las Vegas Strip, the public may finally get confirmation of the men and the motive behind one of music’s greatest mysteries: Who killed Tupac Shakur? Why did it take authorities over 25 years to file charges in such a high-profile case when so many apparently already knew who was responsible? Who were they trying to protect? And what’s changed?
