Living in a constant state of fear that people knew about the abuse ultimately led Fausto to find relief in alcohol and meth. Several years of chaos ensued until a friend sharing a bible verse with him in his early twenties changed his life. Making his way into the rooms of Twelve Step recovery, Fausto embarked on a new life, exploring pursuits like professional jump roping, studying to be a counselor and working in treatment.
