Lisa Bainham trained to be a dental nurse at North Staffordshire Hospital and qualified in 1994. Originally working in an Orthodontic practice, she then developed an interest in practice management and came to join Steve Lomas, as the Practice manager from when the practice opened in 1998 as a squat practice. Twenty years later she still is Pm of the same practice.
Lisa is involved in many aspects of the practice, including, marketing, Health & Safety, quality standards, accounting and ensuring the practice runs smoothly and efficiently, and essentially relieving the dentist of some responsibility. Lisa is extremely proud of The Old Surgery brand and the dedicated team of staff that delivers the excellent customer service, the patients deserve, and have become accustomed to.
Lisa has an incredible passion for Practice Management and it was no surprise that she was awarded Practice Manager of the Year 2015 by The Association of Dental Administrators and Managers and was very proud to also win Practice Manager of the year 2016 at the prestigious Dental Awards.
Lisa has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience over her last 18 years as a practice manager and is now supporting other practice managers in her role as President of The Association of Administrators and Managers, who have over 600 members throughout the UK.
In this interview, she will share key skills on what it takes to become an outstanding Practice Manager, the importance of having essential business skills and what it takes to be a successful Practice Manager in today's marketplace.
Contact UsWhen Dr. Manish Chitnis qualified as a dentist in Mumbai, India, little did he know that some years later he would be managing two successful UK clinics, one acquisition providing primarily NHS dentistry and the other a private squat in a nearby town providing high-end dentistry that has gone from zero to hero in a few short years.
Along the way (and in his spare time) he has been instrumental in building one of the largest private Facebook Groups for dentists in the world, as well as pioneering a unique and new dental tourism concept. Manish is all about "getting things done" and in this fascinating episode of the "Two Reds" podcast, he will demonstrate that there are no barriers to success, other than those that we impose on ourselves. Let Manish himself share with you his story - the story of a man and wife dental team (behind every good man…..) who arrived in the UK with next to nothing, had their first experience of UK dentistry in the corporate world but have fashioned, brick by brick, a superb business.Contact Us

Grab a pen and paper and hang on Chris's every word as you listen to a masterclass in patient communication. We asked Chris to explain his "Problem Presentation System" - how he enrols his patients in a conversation process that transitions them from presenting dental problems to voluntarily requesting and accepting Best Option solutions as opposed to cheaper and less desirable dentistry. We'll also be learning how Chris re-orders the steps in the patient journey to work closely with his hygienists on "appointment choreography".
