‘TRAILER PARK’ 

‘The Willoughbys’ - Here we find Netflix’s newest endeavour, diving into the world of Children’s animation! And what better way to kick it off with a story all kids can get behind, CHILD NEGLECT! Wooooo! The Willoughbys follow the four Willoughby children as they embark on the dream: getting rid of their parents! So they hatch a scheme to send them on a holiday (seemingly to have them killed… legit) and earn their freedom! When they succeed, they all of a sudden are being cared for by a Nanny who loves to siiiiiiiiing! But what’s that? Child protective services are hunting them down! Whatever shall they do?! Crawling onto Netflix like a baby eating candy off a conveyor belt, yesterday! 

‘Survive the Night’ - Bruce Willis and Chad Michael Murray (remember him?) star in this direct to ‘on demand’ high octane action thriller! When two brothers pull off a robbery and are on the run from the cops, they must seek medical attention as one of the brothers got shot in the leg. But where do they go? The hospital? Pfffft, no, they’d get busted! An after hours medical clinic? No way! That’s a direct ticket to jail! What do they do? Follow a doctor to his home and hold his wife, daughter and father hostage until he performs surgery on the injured brother and saves his life at the threat of having his family murdered? Fuck yes! Seems like a reasonable outcome! All I know is this doctor has squeezed his way into a Cottees Jar because you better believe he’s in a JAM now! *Pause for laughter*. Popping into TV screens like a bullet popping into a leg, May 22! 

‘Peninsula’ (aka ‘Train to Busan 2’) Now, we all know we both love a GOOD zombie flick, so what better than a Zombie flick set in a world where ‘Zombie’ and the undead are just, the norm? No no. I’m not talking about a silly comedy like Zombieland, how about a non stop action, thriller, gorefest like Peninsula! Following up on the critically acclaimed 2016 Korean film ‘Train to Busan’ we have this sequel. The world has been overrun by the undead and the norm is now constantly running, blood and dead bodies everywhere and twisted ‘gladiator’ type survival games fighting masses of zombies. Count me the fuck in! One ticket please! Crawling into theatres like a mass horde of Zombies, August 6! 

‘Extraction’ - Did someone tell Netflix they don’t have the budgets of big Hollywood blockbusters?! Well here comes Netflix to prove everyone wrong with this insanely priced, Chris Hemsworth led film Extraction! Hemsworth stars as a mercenary with nothing to lose, sent on a mission to rescue a Drug Lords son who has been kidnapped in a seemingly never ending drug war. Tasked with getting the kid out of a now lockdowned, corrupt city, can he complete his mission without hurting the kid before his time runs out? It’s going to be hard when he keeps throwing the child off of roofs and having grenades go off at his feet! Coming to Netflix like Michael Bay jizzing at an explosion, today! 

‘Capone’ - Al Capone. The most notorious gangster in US history is having another reboot in this new telling of his latter years. Capone (played by the ever talented Tom Hardy) has just been released from prison. Of course the Feds are still watching him like a hawk because they suspect he has stockpiled a bunch of Dollary Doos and it’s only a matter of time before he goes to retrieve it. Only problem is, Capone is suffering from severe dementia and can’t even remember his fucking name. Is this the story of one of the deadliest men in crime history’s fall from Grace, or the brilliant act of a genius pretending to be past his prime? Chomping onto the internet like an alligator chewing a crotch, May 12!

That is exactly what happens in ‘Dave’! Played by Oscar winner Kevin Kline and joined by Sigourney Weaver, Frank Langella, Ben Kingsley and Kevin Dunn, this star studded cast heads up this comedic look at an average Joe who suddenly finds himself the most powerful leader in the free world! Falling into theaters like an idiot falling off a chair, May 7! 

‘Hot Shots: Part Deux’ (May 21) - https://youtu.be/PfjFo6sPLcM - We knew this was coming! Following up from the incredibly successful first installment of ‘Rambo Spoof’ films ‘Hot Shots’, we now have ‘Hot Shots: Part Deux’ heading our way! We find our hero Topper Harley (player by none other than Charlie Sheen) tasked with a near impossible mission: rescue a rescue team from the hands of vicious guerrilla enemies deep in the jungle. How can one man do this? Pffft, easy when you’re Topper Fucking Harley! Armed with the wit of a poet, the body of a god and more bullets than a drive by in Harlem, HE'S sure to get the job done! The usual ‘spoof’ hi-jinx of course are along for the ride including obscene sexual references, helicopters eating hats, guns that make an enemy ‘splat’ and Saddam Hussein with bikini Tan Lines! This film is sure to be fun for the whole family! Hopping into theatres like an energiser bunny into a War zone, May 21! 

‘Sliver’ (May 21) - https://youtu.be/YaSW4Lqc8uI - Sharon Stone gets to live out every woman’s fantasy in this dark thriller! She plays Carly, a young woman who just found her forever home, a beautiful apartment overlooking the city. She has an amazing job, an incredible lifestyle and overly attractive Baldwin’s for neighbours. What could possibly go wrong? Well, she shouldn’t count her chickens before they hatch...lay…cook… their eggs? Because it seems like somebody is hiding a dark secret… every apartment in the building is being watched, with secret cameras filming everyone and watching their every move. And when the story begins to unravel, tenants are popping up dead one by one. Can she find the killer before it’s her turn to die? We will find out when ‘Sliver’ comes falling into theatres like a body from the 23rd floor on the 21st of May! 

‘Cliffhanger’ (May 28) - https://youtu.be/OZALfW1ohRI - You know you’re in for a wild ride of a film when the opening scene shows someone plummeting thousands of feet to their death! In this unique trailer we see incredible action shots from the film played in rapid succession one after the other to a soundtrack of classical music! Brilliant! With no audio from the film played, it’s hard to gauge what the film is about but from what we can see, it looks like a plane or helicopter has crashed or dropped its load over a snowy mountain range and it’s load appears to be briefcases filled with money. Sylvester Stallone appears to be an innocent bystander out for a morning stroll with his girlfriend when he seemingly begins to be hunted by John Lithgow? Honestly, I’m not sure but from what I can see, this is going to be Nucking Futs!! Exploding into theaters like a rope bridge over a canyon, May 28!

One of the hottest young actors in Hollywood today, Christian Slater leads this whacky film about a young goofball named George who tries out for a special police unit but golly gosh, it’s just too much work! Somehow after getting himself into some trouble he finds himself the flipping BOSS of this team of agents as they hunt down killers…….or car thieves…… or rapists, or, who the hell knows?! All i know is this film is relying heavily on 22 year old Slater and a very young 17 year old actress named Mila Jovovich to carry this film, can they handle the hilarious burden? Roaming into theaters like a wayward camera into a fictional character's shower, January 10th!

I don’t know… BUT what i do know is the blockbuster Sci-Fi, Action, Thriller spot is taken this summer by the film ‘FreeJack’! The film tells of a Race Car Driver who unfortunately during a race gets into a fiery wreck and dies….. NEXT MINUTE OR SO, BAM, he’s been transported to the year 2009 where I believe his brain can be put into another's body, for the right price. But why him? Because everyone in 2009 is seemingly an idiot living in an apocalyptic world where men dress in tin foil and army tanks roam the street for funzies! Did i mention the film stars Emilio Estevez, Anthony Hopkins and Mick Gosh Dang Jaggar?! Yup. Crashing into theatres like a race car into a billboard, January 17! 

Juice’: https://youtu.be/QsWto8p7t1E - Four Friends, FOUR Friends, FOUR FRIENDS!!! As the trailer explains, Four Friends from ‘da hood’, are trying to live their best lives always in chase of ‘The Juice’ (which i believe means money and power). ‘Q’, ‘Bishop’, ‘Steel’ and ‘Raheem’ decide one night to rob a corner store and make a little dough. Q isn’t so keen on the idea as he doesn’t want to put his Disc Jockey career in jeopardy but he goes along with it. Unfortunately for him, Bishop takes things a little too far and murders the corner store owner. Now they have weaved a tangled web of crime and betrayal and the man (aka, the Po-Po) are trying to hunt them down. Can they Get out of this without anymore bloodshed?  Cruising into theatres like a bullet in a robbery, January 17!

Love Crimes’: https://youtu.be/T4xVCmsl9CA - Two of hollywoods ‘Hottest Video Rental Stars’ team up in this thriller about a District Attorney (played by Sean Young) who begins investigating a man she thinks may be impersonating a famous photographer. The man in question, played by the incredibly talented Patrick Bergin, impersonates a photographer and then seduces women into having sex with him while he flaunts about with his chizzled jawline and perfect hair. He is every woman's dream AND every woman's nightmare. Is what he is doing a crime? “Is lying a crime” the trailer asks? Yes. Yes it fucking is. Jesus H Christ… Sliding into theatres like a sleezeball’s penis into an unwilling vagina, January 24!

As I lay on my bed, listening to the latest Backstreet Boys album ‘Millennium’ on my Sony Disc man (sorry, CD Walkman. I keep forgetting Sony changed the name last year), my Nokia 3210 vibrates. It’s an SMS text message from Dylan! ‘Hey bro, what’re you up to?’ it says. ‘Not much dude, just gearing up for the Olympics in Sydney this year!’ I respond. ‘Ah nice nice! I’m more excited for that new reality show ‘Big Brother’ to premiere in a couple of months!’ his next text reads. As I delay my response due to a very intense game of snake i’m playing on my cellular telephone I get a second SMS asking ‘Did you wanna head to the movies tonight?’. ‘HELL YEAH I DO! But what’s playing in the theaters?’ Well there’s only one way to find out…

 

MARCH 24TH

‘Here on Earth’ - Now this is what the cinema is made for! A romantic drama following three of Hollywood’s hottest talents! In this story we see a convoluted love triangle evolve between small town sweethearts Samantha and Jasper (Leelee Sobieski & Josh Hartnett) and pretty, rich, city boy Kelley (Chris Klein) when Kelley hits on Samantha. Jasper challenges the city boy to a drag race when BAM, they crash into and destroy the local diner. What punishment fits the crime? For them both to help rebuild the diner in lieu of jail time. Oh what a web you weave justice system! Through this misadventure, Kelley continues his pursuit of Samantha and Jasper ain’t having that shit! Blazing into theatres like a muscle car into a diner, March 24th.

‘Whatever it Takes’ - In a tale as old as time itself we see two high school students getting ready for prom, one a jock (James Franco) and the other the handsome nerd (Shane West). They both want the opposites when looking for a date, the Jock wants the pretty theatre girl and the handsome nerd wanting the hottest, lets be honest, dumbest girl in school. So how do they get the girls they seek? They do Whatever it takes! Meaning, they’re both going to give each other advice on how to obtain and impress the girls they want. ‘The Road to El Dorado’ - Look out Disney, there’s a new king of animation in town! DreamWorks Animation brings us the new family fun film ‘The Road to El Dorado’! The story follows two ‘swindlers’ who manage to get their hands on a map to the fabled ‘lost city of gold’ and the film follows their journey as they get caught up in the expected hi-jinx of two people who are completely out of their depth! With an all star voice cast including Kevin Kline, Kenneth Branagh, Edward James Olmos, Tobin Bell and Narrated by none other than Elton John, how could this not be a smash hit?! Trotting it’s way in to theaters like a horse with golden Hooves, March 31st!

A crew of space explorers think they have found enough evidence to justify human life existing on Mars but what’s that? Just when they thought they were alone, the discover that maybe somebody is already living on Mars… with an all star studded cast of the best of the best Hollywood has to offer including Tim Robbins, Gary Sinise, up and comer Don Cheadle, Connie Nielsen and the ever popular Jerry O’Connell, this looks like a mega wild ride! 

‘The Ninth Gate’ Is it getting hot in here? If you were looking for a film based around a book that has the power of the almighty Satan, than look no further! Rising talent Johnny Depp leads the way in this furious thriller directed by one Roman Polanski! Depp plays a book dealer who is tasked with a trip to Europe to try and track down a book that is a gateway…. TO HELL! All the regular shtick you’d expect from a thriller of this nature including suicidal preists to crippled old ladies burning alive in wheel chairs! Fun for the whole family!

‘Erin Brockovich’ - Holy Boobies Batman! Here we find Julia Roberts (the star of last years romantic comedies Noting Hill and Runaway Bride) stepping into a seemingly more dramatic role. Roberts plays the titular character as a single, twice divorced mother of two, desperately trying to find a job. When she more or less demands a job at a law firm, she single handily goes after a power company polluting a small towns water supply. Can she win the war and take them down? With all the Oscar buzz surrounding her performance, it’s a possibility! 

‘Final Destination’ - Just in time for the Easter Bunnies arrival we have a family film for old and young alike! Final Destination is a horror film about a teenage dude going on a ‘field trip’ I guess with his classmates but right before their plane takes off he has a panic attack and envisions the plane exploding! Himself and a handful of his classmates get off the plane and then BAM, explosion city, everyone dies. But instead of being labeled a hero, maybe he just delayed the inevitable? Now it seems like death is coming after them and is going to take them out one by one! Can they escape death or is their path already chosen?
