Our study is "What did Jesus Do at the

Cross?" What are the results the

scriptures present as to what Jesus

really accomplished at the cross

which is now guaranteed to the one

who trusts in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Of the two kinds of judgments which

are part of the believer's life,

the first has to do with the

judgment of sin at the cross thru

the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

that Christ, in his death, has

taken our sins away once for

all..once for all sins and

for all time and eternity.

God Himself says that He will

remember our sins and

lawless deeds no more forever.

The second judgment the believer

may experience, is God's judgment

Dr. Mitchell asks, How can these

crowns be obtained? It’s by the grace

of God. Christ lives in the

believer and He lives out His life

we are reminded that Jesus

Christ is our life, which He gave

on the cross and which was raised

In John 17:3, Jesus says, “And this

is life eternal, that they might

know Thee, the only true God and

Jesus Christ whom Thou has sent.”

To "know" means to have an intimate

interpersonal relationship

where time is spent sharing

truth and love between one another.

 Eternal Life.

This is part one on the subject

 of eternal life.  Dr. Mitchell briefly references Genesis 3 where sin and death 

 started. The question is then asked, Is it possible for man to live forever?. He then turns our attention to Psalms 89, Hebrews 9 and Psalm 49. Then in the New Testament we turn to Luke 10:25 to

 a lawyer asking Jesus a question on how to obtain eternal life. Can a person gain eternal life by doing something?

 

 We next turn to Mark 10 with the rich young ruler who wanted to  know what good thing he could do

Our study on What Jesus Did Do at the cross continues with the

doctrine of propitiation.

What is propitiation? This teaching

is at the very heart of the Gospel.

It is found in Romans 3:25-26.

For someone who values the glory and honor of God Himself,

propitiation brings great joy.

It is the means by which God's own

righteousness is upheld.

Not only is His righteousness

upheld, it is upheld righteously.

By means of the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross, propitiation

is accomplished. The holy character

of God is vindicated thereby freeing God to be able to freely

and righteously provide His grace

and salvation to each one of us.

Have you freely received His

eternal salvation through faith in

the Lord Jesus Christ? If you have, you now stand righteous and

uncondemned before

God in His righteousness.

In our study we will be looking at

part two of the doctrine of

reconciliation, God making peace

for the world. This peace is based

on the shed blood of Jesus Christ

on the cross.

The result is God is not now

pouring out His wrath on man.

God has put away the barrier of sin

which had separated man from God. So we read that God is not now imputing sins against mankind.

When a person believes this, he can

come freely to God and believe in

the Lord Jesus Christ and have his sins forgiven, and put away as far

as the east is from the west.

provides, 2 Corinthians 5:18-21.

What Jesus Christ accomplished on

the Cross is the subject of our

study. We have dealt with

forgiveness, redemption,

justification and it's guarantee,

and now we will be examining the

doctrine of reconciliation.

2 Cor. 5:18-21 is the scripture

where we find this vital

doctrine. Dr. Mitchell discusses

this passage at length.

The focus here is on what God did

in relationship to the world. He

made peace for the world not

imputing their sins against them.

It goes on to say what we, who know

Christ as savior, have as the

privilege and the responsibility

towards the unsaved world.

Let's turn to 2Cor. 5:18 where we

declares concerning the doctrine of

reconciliation and the peace it

provides.
