July 19, 2021 Acts_10:34-44 - _Prog 36
The Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast
continues our study in the book of
Acts written by Luke the physician
and historian. He wrote this book
to his esteemed friend, Theophilus.
We are in chapter 10 verse 34 where
Peter begins to proclaim the life
giving gospel concerning Jesus
Christ. He tells us that Jesus is
the Lord of all who brings peace.
Here Peter is preaching to the
gentiles for the first time of whom
we read that they knew what
happened in Judea concerning Jesus.
But knowing about Jesus was not
enough. They needed to hear that
it is through faith in Jesus Christ
that one receives forgiveness of
sins through His name. It is a true
joy to believe and know that God
has in fact forgiven all your sins
and this forever.
Dr. Mitchell shares the Lord
Jesus with us, Acts 10:34.

July 16, 2021 Acts 10:9-33 - Prog 35
In Acts 10:9, Luke changes focus to
Peter, who is still in Joppa.
Here we see God working at both
ends of the spectrum, both with
Cornelius and Peter. The Lord has
now to deal with Peter and his
kosher upbringing with regards to
foods and gentiles.
So, another vision appears to Peter
where he is confronted with God’s
view of foods and people.
Peter learns to not call anyone
common or unclean, because God has
cleansed them. How? By means of the
blood of the cross, Col.1:20, reconciliation,
not counting their trespasses
against them. 2Cor.5:18-19. God has
made it peaceably possible for each
and everyone to come to Him through
faith in the Lord Jesus Christ for
the forgiveness of sins.

July 15, 2021 Acts 10:1-8 - Prog 34
We now move into Acts 10. We move
from Jerusalem to Caesarea where we
meet a soldier named Cornelius.
He was a God-fearing man, who gave
alms to the Jewish people, he
prayed to God continually. These
things had come up to God as a
memorial. God sees this devotion to
Him, the true and living God.
Here is a man who was God fearing,
and yet unsaved.
Luke tells us how an angel of the
Lord appeared to him to tell him to
send for a man named Peter in
Joppa, about 32 miles south of
Caesarea. Peter would tell him
what to do. So he immediately sends
two servants and a devout soldier.
Here is another devout soldier who
has deep respect for God and
follows orders.
In our Bibles, Acts 10:1, here’s
Dr. Mitchell, on the Unchanging

July 14, 2021 Acts 9:20-43 - Prog 33
Now in Acts 9:20-43, we see a plot
formed against Saul because of his
outspoken declaration of Jesus
as the Son of God and the Messiah.
Here is a demonstration of one
whose first love is made evident in
bold proclamation of the person and
work of Jesus Christ.
Moving from Damascus to Jerusalem,
Saul is not initially received by
the believers there. So Barnabas
takes Saul by hand to introduce
him to the apostles in Jerusalem,
where he previously persecuted.
So the unbelieving Jews formed a
plot against Saul.The brothers then
sent Paul away.
Now Peter comes into view who is
used of God to bring healing to a
sick man again. Those who heard,
believed in Christ.

Then he is used to raise a woman
from the dead so many here also
believed in the Lord.

July 13, 2021 Acts 9:6-22 - Prog 32
We continue in Acts 9:6 as Dr.
Mitchell continues to look at the
conversion of Saul.
Saul is now fasting and praying.
The Lord then appears in a vision
to one Ananias of Damascus to tell
him to go to Saul. He tells him
Saul also has seen, in a vision, a
man coming to him to lay his hands
on Saul so he would regain his
sight. When Saul regains clear
sight, something like scales fell
from his eyes, something like
cataracts.
As Acts is a book of transitions,
it should be noted that our Lord’s
appearing in visions to people is
rare now. Heb. 1:1-2 says God is
NOW speaking to us in His Son, thru
the Word of God by the Holy Spirit.
Let’s turn to Acts 9:6 with Dr.
Mitchell, on the Unchanging Word

July 12, 2021 Acts 9:1-9 - Prog 31
Welcome to the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast. We are in Acts 9:1-9.
The theme of this section is the
persecution of believers, whether
as an individual, such as Stephen,
or as the church as a whole.
This persecution was being carried
out by a religious zealot, Saul, a
Pharisee of the Jewish religion.
Saul became afraid because at this
point, a bright light shined on
them and he was blinded. He asked,
‘Who are you lord, sir?”
And when our Lord appeared to Saul,
personally, speaking in the Hebrew
language, He identifies Himself by
name, saying, ‘I Am Jesus, whom you
are persecuting!’ Jesus takes
persecution against His church very
personally.
From this point on, Saul is given
time to consider who this Jesus is.
This is one of the 17x appearances
of Jesus after His resurrection.

July 09, 2021 Acts 8:26-40 - Prog 30
We are in Acts 8:26 on the Unchanging
Word Bible Broadcast reading more of
what God did thru Philip the
evangelist. In the midst of a revival,
an angel of the Lord instructs Philip
to go down the road to a desert place
near Gaza. Luke records that an
Ethiopian eunuch was worshipping,
riding along in his chariot having
come from Jerusalem.
He was reading a passage from Isaiah,
chapter 53 to be exact.
When Philip was told by the Spirit to
come up along side of the man’s
chariot, he heard him continually
reading out loud this passage. So
Philip asked him whether he was yet
understanding what he was reading. He
said, I need someone to guide me in
understanding who this Scripture is
speaking about.
Let’s turn to Acts 8:26 with Dr.
Mitchell as he guides our hearts
to Jesus.

July 08, 2021 Acts 8:5-8 - Prog 29
Luke now brings into focus another
one of the
7 men appointed as a deacon of the
church in
Jerusalem by the name of Philip.
He too along with Stephen were
ministering. Philip, the evangelist,
was a family man and a deacon who
knew the word of God.
But with the church now having been
scattered, Philip too was proclaiming
Christ in Samaria.
While he preached, a man named Simon, also believed. Meanwhile, Peter and John came to the city of Samaria to
pray for the new believers and to
bestow the Holy Spirit.
This man Simon wanted to pay
money to receive the same authority
to bestow this power. Peter seeing
through him, soundly rejected the
offer and gravely admonished Simon to
repent from that very thought.

July 07, 2021 Acts 7:54 - 8:4 - Prog 28
In this lesson, Luke brings Stephen’s
martyrdom to the forefront.
While being stoned, full of the Holy
Spirit, Stephen saw the heavens opened
and the glory of God and Jesus
standing at God’s right hand. Here all
three persons of the Trinity are
spoken of.
What an encouragement to this man
while he was on the verge of death.
Yet, he prays for their forgiveness.
Could you or I do that?
This was not without observation to a
certain young man by the name of Saul.
On that very day, persecution of the
church began in Jerusalem and it was
scattered through out the region of
Judea and Samaria. In spite of this,
the people were continuing to preach
the Word, the good news of Jesus.
Let’s turn in our Bible with Dr.
Mitchell to Acts 7:54 on the
Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast.

July 06, 2021 Acts 7:6-60 - Prog 27
Our study in Acts 7 continues here on
the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast.
Dr. Mitchell begins in verse 6 as he
looks through Stephen’s Biblical
defense before the religious council.
Dr. Mitchell points out how Stephen
begins with the glory of God and ends
with the God of glory.
Stephen reiterating the history of
Israel to these rulers, revealed
his belief in Moses.
He quotes Genesis, Exodus,Deuteronomy,
all written by Moses. He also quotes
two prophets, Amos and Isaiah. A total
of 16 times Stephen quotes the
Scriptures of these Hebrews in defense
of the God of glory who raised Jesus
His son from the dead. He reminded
them that they were the ones who
betrayed and murdered the Lord Jesus.
They were convicted and began to stone
Stephen as he called on the name of
the Lord to forgive them.
