In this program, Dr. Mitchell will be camping on
Exodus 16:22.
He will be discussing the sustenance on our manna
from heaven, that is, our daily meeting with the
Lord in His Word and prayer. This sustenance
is needed on a daily basis.
Dr. Mitchell recounts in order the redemption
sustenance and hope which we can enjoy. As he
brings out this fact: the glory of the Lord was not revealed
in Egypt, but it was in the wilderness where the
people were shut up unto the Lord Himself.

Exodus 16 verses 4-21.

We now learn how God responds to the grumbling of the
children of Israel concerning their physical provision for meat and bread.

The LORD rained down from heaven a small round
flake-like substance upon the ground. The people
ask “What is it?” So it was named “Manna”.
The question “What is it” in Hebrew sounds like
the word “Manna.”
Jesus says of Himself that He is the true bread
from heaven. When a person believes in the Lord
Jesus Christ, he is receiving the living bread, Christ Himself, who gives His life to you.

October 05, 2020 Exodus 16:1-4 Prog 31
Let’s open our Bibles to Exodus 16.
Our study continues with Dr. Mitchell as he explores
the journey of the children of Israel into the
wilderness with it’s many aggravations.
We will be looking into the first 4 verses.
Here Moses and Israel have been on the way for
a mere 6 weeks, a month and a half.
They had just set out from Elim
with it’s 12 springs of water and 70 palm trees
where they had enjoyed God’s supply for their
wilderness wandering.
But now, as we are reminded, they had forgotten the
previous protections and provisions of God.
Having forgotten, they again began to murmur
against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness.
The issue this time is with food. This gives rise
to the LORD telling Moses how He will provide
bread from heaven for them.
Let’s join Dr. Mitchell in Exodus 16 on the

Turn to Exodus 15:23 where Dr. Mitchell resumes
the lesson concerning the tree thrown into the
bitter waters which made the water sweet and
drinkable at Mara.
It is noted that in the book of Ruth, Naomi
asked that she be called Mara, bitter, because of
the adverse circumstances the Lord brought into
her life.
In Hebrews 12:15 we are exhorted:
“Look carefully lest anyone fall short of the
grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by it many become defiled.”
Bitterness can affect one’s health both spiritual
and physical. Jesus the Lord is Jehovah Rapha,
our healer.

October 01, 2020 Exodus 15:1-25 Prog 29
In Ex.15, Moses records the first song of
redemption in the Bible.
There are 18 verses in this song.
Verses 1-5 the people sing about the LORD.
In verses 6-18, they sing to the LORD.
The people, however, went from singing to the Lord
to complaining against Moses. And why?

They wanted water to drink, but they could not
drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter.
But the LORD showed Moses a tree which when it
was cast into the waters, the waters became sweet,
and palatable to the taste.
Dr. Mitchell explains this tree in Ex.15:1-25

September 30, 2020 Exodus 14:15 - 15:1 Prog 28
Here Moses writes about the deliverance of the
sons of Israel through the Red Sea with waters
as walls to them on the left and on the right.

That which was judgment for the Egyptians was
deliverance to the Israelites.
Dr. Mitchell notes that God was between Israel
and their enemies in the pillar of cloud and fire.
Light to Israel and darkness to Egypt so is the
Lord to us who know Jesus Christ as savior.

Romans 8:31 says: If God be for us, who can be
against us? Do you know and believe that God is
for us in Christ?

September 29, 2020 Exodus 14:1-14 Prog 27
Our study continues in Exodus 14 verse 1.
In this chapter the children of Israel are drawing
near to the Red Sea and God’s encounter with the
army of the Pharaoh of Egypt.

Pharaoh wrongly supposed that the people were
closed in by the wilderness and were bewildered.
They seemed to be easy prey for his army.
But the God whom Pharaoh refused to believe or
acknowledge had other plans for Moses and His
people.
The LORD is going to fight for you, said Moses to
the frightened people. He told them to stand still
and see the salvation of the LORD.
Dr. Mitchell brings out the need for the believer
to stand still and wait on God in daily faith for
His will to be manifest.

As the children of Israel are on their way out of
Egypt, they camped at the edge of the wilderness
at a place called Etham. Moses makes note of the
fact that the pillar of cloud lead them by day and it
was also a pillar of fire to give light by night.
The LORD Himself was in the pillar of cloud and
fire.

The deliverance from the army of Pharaoh is next
as the Israelites are caught in what appears to be
a trap between the army and the Red sea.

In Ex.13:1-19 we hear the LORD speaking to Moses that they were to dedicate their first born to God.
This applied to the male sons especially.
In this passage, the Lord prepares for the
questions to come from the future generations of
Jews who will ask the reason and meaning for the
passover.
As we follow what God does with the nation of
Israel we read that He led them away from the
short route to the promised land and instead led
them into the wilderness.
He took them toward the Red Sea.
God had a plan for going in this direction, which
we will learn about in the next few chapters of
Exodus.
God has a plan for your direction even now. Trust Him!

September 24, 2020 Exodus 12:29-51 Prog 24
In Exodus 12 verses 29-51 Pharaoh hurries
Moses and Aaron out of the land of Egypt.
The Egyptians were more than urgent to send the
people of Israel out of the land so that if anything more
were to happen they would all be dead.
So, the Lord's people began their exodus from
the land of slavery, the land of Egypt.
A mixed multitude went up with them.
These later on caused trouble for Moses
and the people.
Moses writes how at the end of 430 years to the
very day, they all left the land of Egypt.
God is always on time, as Dr. Mitchell shares with us.
Jesus was always on time, when He was born,
when He died and when He arose from the dead
and when He appeared to His disciples. Trust Him for
your time schedule and for when He will appear again
for you and me.
