The No. 12 Ohio State women's basketball team was back after over a week off, and it was against the strongest opponent to date in the No. 12 Illinois Fighting Illini. After a close first quarter, the Scarlet and Gray built a lead and held on through the final buzzer, beating the Illini 83-74. Following the game, head coach Kevin McGuff, Cotie McMahon and Chance Gray spoke with the media.
McGuff talked about his side playing their first ranked opponent, the increased post presence of Ajae Petty and Elsa Lemmilä and how the team is different when Cotie McMahon is healthy and in the game.
McMahon talked about not having any hesitancy coming back from injury. Plus, what she learned watching the team on the bench for four games, the calming presence of Madison Greene and what it's like being reunited with former AAU teammate Gray.
Gray talked about the rhythm of the game and the amount of fouls and what its like having McMahon on the court in games.
