How Do We Create Meaning Beyond The Uniform?
Nate Boyer shows us just that today.
For those not familiar with Nate’s story, he is an Army Green Beret, philanthropist, humanitarian, and former football plater for University of Texas. At 34, Nate became the oldest rookie in NFL history while playing with the Seattle Seahawks.
Nate’s unique experience of finding himself a part of both the professional athlete and veteran community, shapes a lot of the work he does now. Having seen how both communities can often struggle to create a meaningful life once their uniforms were laid down, Nate joined up with Jay Glazer to found Merging Vets & Players, or MVP for short.
MVP helps tackle the transition struggles through workouts and workshops that provide the space for both parties to tap back into who they’ve always been.
Today we discuss his movie, MVP which highlights a lot more of how the organization came to be. We dive into discovering new perspective on grit, managing the adversities we all face in our lives, and how we can start to create more meaning in our life.
