Vikings Happy Hour

On the Final Score today…

It is January 1, 2023, and the perfect time to start an annual of beating the Green Bay Packers. Happy New Year everyone! Your Minnesota Vikings have traveled to Wisconsin to renew the tradition of sweeping our biggest border rivals. The first half has been brutal and the Vikings trail at half 27-3. Same at the end of the third, but the Packers scored starting the 4th quarter to make it 34-3. They have been behind by more and have come back, but can they do it today? Absolutely not. The final score ended up being Packers 41-17 over the purple. The Packers have shut down, Jaire Alexander in particular doing the smothering of Justin Jefferson all day so far. Kirk Cousins has thrown numerous interceptions, but mostly not his fault. One of them returned for a touchdown in a crazy start to this game. Will it get better in the second half? No, of course it didn’t. We will have to see. …And we saw. The Vikings drop to 12-4 and the #3 seed in the NFC Playoff picture.

All these questions, and more as we react at the end of the game, in the final two minutes, with Climbing The Pocket’s ‘The Final Score.’ Join us and share your frustrations and celebrations. It looks like it’s time to vent.

On today’s episode of Two Old Bloggers🎙 - it is Packers week and your Minnesota Vikings are traveling to Lambeau Field for the second installment in the annual border battle. Cheese anyone? This should be a good one. We know Packers bloggers and podcast hosts have been slamming your Minnesota Vikings as being a fraudulent team this season. Does that mean we have to get back any of the 12 wins? Of course, it doesn’t. It just means they’re a bit jealous that the Vikings have a chance to end their 2022 season hopes.

Today we’re gonna start by looking at the rookies in purple. Some have continued to contribute, others have not, and there’s a bunch that is getting better week by week. We’re gonna look at how those individuals are helping the team. We see increased snaps by individuals like Brian Asamoah, and Esezi Otemewo. They have been very critical.

One of the smallest men on the team, Duke Shelley, has stepped up in a big way. He’s come in for an injured Cameron Dantzler and made his presence known. He may only be listed as 5‘9“, but he plays a lot larger than that.

Finally, will break down the Minnesota Vikings at the Green Bay Packers. This is an NFC North rivalry that’s been around for a long time and that fans on both sides absolutely love. We relish the opportunity to sweep the Packers this season. No first-time head coach for the Vikings since Dennis Green has accomplished this. Will Kevin O’Connell pull out this rare achievement to add to the many that he has accumulated so far on the way to a 12–3 record? Will Aaron Rodgers play well without his number-one receiver? Christian Watson is questionable and may not play. Can Justin Jefferson continue to make Jaire Alexander look ridiculous? Jaire did a good job on his own this week commenting that in the first game, it was just a fluke that JJ and the Vikings performed so well. We will all see on Sunday. All this and more on today’s 2OB.

Theme #1: Late season roles for rookies?

Theme #2: In praise of the Duke

It is Thursdays and that means🔥Viking Hot Takes🔥. After yet another one-score game where your Minnesota Vikings came out victorious in glorious fashion over the New York Giants. A 61-yard game-winning field goal as time runs out, after coming from behind again is pretty glorious. That moved the Vikings' record to 12-3 for the season. Now, in this NFC North matchup, can the Vikings sweep Green Bay? They will travel to Lambeau Field to meet their rivals, the Green Bay Packers in a nationally broadcasted late afternoon game on Sunday. The Packers still have playoff aspirations but can the Vikings extinguish them? Hopefully with extreme prejudice in the process of putting together their most complete game yet. Can Justin Jefferson make the push for 2,000 yards even more realistic? Will the healthy Vikings rookies continue to step up their contributions? It is all ahead in this special border battle with Flip and Eric adding their own spin next in the traditional Thursday debate.

Join the show and tell us “what’s your take?”

Flip’s questions:

1. Is Kirk Cousins worth his contract?

2. How much will Justin Jefferson’s next contract be worth?

3. Will MIN beat GB twice this year?

Eric’s questions:

1. If Cam Dantzler is back to 100%, should he start over Duke Shelley?

2. Should Brian Asamoah get even more snaps in the playoffs?

3. Will the Vikings finish the season undefeated in one-score games?

On this Vikings Happy Hour🍻… Welcome back to Vikings Happy Hour! After a week-long hiatus, we are back to discuss an exciting two weeks of Minnesota Vikings football.

We will quickly dive into thoughts on the crazy comeback against the Indianapolis Colts, break down the exciting win against the New York Giants, and look ahead to rivalry week against the dreaded Green Bay Packers.

As we delve into the Minnesota Vikings' bright spots over the last couple of weeks on defense, is this a glimpse of hope in years to come? Does Justin Jefferson legitimately have a chance at the MVP? How important is that #2 seed?

Discussion topics the bartender has lined up for episode 077 are:

- Recap the last two weeks of football (massive comeback, miracle 61 yarder, Myles experience at first game at US Bank Stadium)

On this 🎙The Real Forno Show 🏈 - The Minnesota Vikings might as well be the new cardiac kids as they let things go down to the wire with the New York Giants by a score of 27-24. They did so on the leg of Greg Joseph, who kicked a franchise-record 61-yard field goal to win the game.

Sitting at 12-3, the Vikings still have a chance at the number one seed, as the Philadelphia Eagles lost 40-34 to the Dallas Cowboys. They need two losses by the Eagles and the Vikings need to beat the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears in the next two weeks.

On Monday's show, we will be discussing quite a bit, including:

-The record-setting performances on Saturday

-What do postseason awards look like for the Vikings?

-How good is this Green Bay Packers team?

-Should the Vikings be resting players?

All of that and more on Monday night’s The Real Forno Show!

On the Final Score today…

The Whiteout is full effect and your Minnesota Vikings are coming off of their big emotional comeback victory last week, and for most of this game seem a little dull. It is at the end of the third-quarter and the trail the New York Giants 13–10 after opening the game with a 10–0 lead, the Vikings defense looks to be returning to its old self , and that’s not a good thing. But they did get some key plays. Will the defense step up in the fourth quarter? For the most part. Will this be another comeback win for Kirk Cousins? It was, making 8 for this season and tying the NFL record. Does Justin Jefferson get enough catches to break the hundred yard mark again? He did for 133. We’ll find out! And we did. Join us in those final two minutes. Hopefully we cheer on a victory and don’t have to vent today on Christmas Eve. Your Vikings now have a 12-3 record so let Vikings and holiday cheer begin!

All these questions, and more as we react at the end of the game, in the final two minutes, with Climbing The Pocket’s ‘The Final Score.’ Join us and share your frustrations and celebrations.

On today’s episode of Two Old Bloggers🎙 - your Minnesota Vikings are coming off the biggest comeback in NFL history where they defeated the Indianapolis Colts 39–36. What a wild game. Now it is time to look ahead to the New York Giants and keep that number two seed in the NFC for the NFC playoffs and the best chance in the quest for their first Super Bowl win ever.

The first Darren wishes to give his last words on that absolutely dramatic game last Saturday. Unfortunately, he was one of those people that left after halftime. It should be good to hear his thoughts on the subject. …And give him grief, of course.

Then we get into our quick hitters for today. There is one apology that Darren wishes to extend and I tend to agree with him. He can count Dave in on this one as well. Over what? That he and Dave advocated for KJ “Ozzy“ Osborn to be overtaken by Jalen Reagor on the depth chart and with playing time. Osborn had his greatest game to date. He was a key factor in the Vikings winning the game. Reagor on the other hand… It gets frustrating sometimes.

Then we will dive into that New York Giants team with head coach Brian Daboll. He is up for coach of the year in the NFL. I think Vikings fans might disagree a little bit thinking that Kevin O’Connell with the Vikings' 11–3 record is a better coach, but Daboll is doing a great job with what limited resources he had in New York, and this game may prove to be a little bit tougher than purple fans would like. all that and more on today’s 2OB.

It is Thursdays and that means🔥Viking Hot Takes🔥. Tonight, after the biggest come-from-behind win in NFL history, flip, and Eric have questions based on that game where your Minnesota Vikings came back from 33 points down to the Indianapolis Colts to win 39–36 in overtime.

There is a whiteout coming this weekend along with the New York Giants. Will the team be up for it? Or will they have a letdown? What is the identity of this team? Join the show and tell us “what’s your take?”

Flip’s questions:

1. Where did you watch the largest comeback in NFL history?

2. Which unit had the better game, Offense or Defense?

3. When should the Vikings start resting their starters?

Eric’s questions:

1. Which is closer to this team’s true identity—the first-half Vikings or the second-half Vikings?

2. Which team will the Vikings host for their first playoff game?

3. Will Justin Jefferson reach 2,000 yards receiving?

On this episode of Fifteen Minutes⏱️ with Flipmazzi - It’s time for an FMF Special when Flip texts you and says he wants to do one. Flip wants to take a moment of reflection. Your Minnesota Vikings come off of a truly historic come-from-behind victory over the Indianapolis Colts. In the game, there were many players that stepped up. They had to. It was a struggle that took everyone, not just on the field, but the fans in the stands cheering to build momentum and to power the Vikings to victory. In that, they won the NFC North Division crown for the 2022 season. As it sits right now, they are the #2 seed in the NFC playoffs. The worst they can do is fall to the #3 seed. The best would be to win the NFC’s #1 seed, but that would require the Philadelphia Eagles to lose out. That is unlikely, but we can all hope.

Join flip as he discusses these points below in this FMF special edition.

1. The Turning Point

2. The Unsung Heroes

3. Playoff Expectations

4. Next Man Up

Next up… Beat the New York Giants.
