We have received a huge dose of state-run media talking points lately. Vikings' propaganda states to a person, “Don’t worry, be happy!” The line of thinking was it was all the defense’s fault. Mike Zimmer was evil. The bad man is gone, and now all will be alright. Is that reality? Dave and Darren will go at it as your Two Old Bloggers on Climbing The Pocket. There seems to be something afoot with the press conferences of players all holding the same line. Optimism, sure, is something we all want for the Minnesota Vikings and there are real indicators that get us there, but there are also is something amiss. Let’s look into it together.

The deep thoughts and deep dive into the draft continue. All is hope and happiness again, right? Looking at the statistics, you might come to a different conclusion, but there are some surprises along the way too. Yay!

They will talk over issues and events in the offseason, so get ready for the Climbing The Pocket and Daily Norseman 2OB commentary and interaction show! Flip and Eric are back for Viking Hot Takes with a series of questions to get you thinking about your Minnesota Vikings. The first couple rounds of NFL Free Agency appear to be done. The team is preparing for the NFL Draft, but are there any more free agents on the Vikings' radar? How will Kwesi Adofo-Mensah manipulate the draft and fare in trades with other teams? Can his analytic approach yield first-year starters or more long-term benefits? …Or fail completely? What’s your hot take?

Tonight, Flip will battle Eric for the 32nd episode of Viking Hot Takes on the Climbing The Pocket channel on Thursday night. Following the usual format of the show, we put the usual 20 minutes on the clock and asked each other three questions:

Flip asks:

1. Trade up, stay at 12, or trade down?

2. How many Year 1 starters should MIN expect from this draft?

3. Who is your favorite 2022 draft prospect?

Eric asks:

1. Who will be the starting right guard Week 1?

2. Which remaining free agent would be the best fit for the Vikings?

3. Which draft format is better: the current Thursday through Saturday or the old Saturday/Sunday?

Darren and Dave are focusing more on the NFL Draft as we are less than 3 weeks away. Your Minnesota Vikings have obvious needs, but also, the Vikings have sneaky draft needs too. Under the previous regime with Rick Spielman, it was pretty easy to guess what positions were going to be selected early. Will that turn out to be the same with Kwesi Adofo-Mensah running the draft room? It looks similar to the moves the team has made in the past, but we'll have to wait and see. Kwesi calls it a “competitive rebuild”. It has involved acquiring some tier two and three veterans at low costs to ensure most holes are filled with at least some adequate veterans. It begs the question of how will the Vikings use their #12 draft position?

In our final segment, we are going to look at some of the Vikings who made their way to Valhalla. From the Super Bowl teams in the ’70’s and childhood inspirations, Doug Sutherland, Steve Riley, and NFL Hall Of Fame member, Mick Tingelhoff, will all be remembered.
