  • CTP's In The Huddle - Can They Right The Ship?
What a difference a week makes.
” Hey! That’s what we said last week!” From a good win over the Seattle Seahawks to an absolute beating by the Cleveland Browns. The score may not have shown that with the Vikes losing only 14-7, but the play sure did. Your Minnesota Vikings are now 1-3 at the quarter pole [ahem
there are 17 games now]. There is talent on the team, but they have yet to pull it all together for more than just one whole game. The longboat has capsized, but there is still time to right it and sail onto a major raiding and pillaging run, but can they?
The episode art for today’s show is of the 2017 defense huddled and listening to Anthony Barr. Mike Zimmer had it at the top of the game. They were good. With the word of Anthony Barr coming back to play this weekend against the Detroit Lions, can he be the key to rekindling that type of outstanding play? Come join the conversation with the guys as they discuss the Vikings, these topics, and more. SKOL!
    On tonight's show

    Agenda:
The team at the quarter mark (stupid 17 games)
    What went wrong?
Can they right the ship or is it too late?
Does Zim survive the next month?

  • CTP Mondays - Comfortably Numb? Vikings vs Browns
It’s Monday and fans are asking, “Hello
Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anyone at home?” [~ © Pink Floyd 1979] After yesterday’s game between the Minnesota Vikings and Cleveland Browns ugly game, the Vikes are now now 1-3 and on the way to a head claiming season, or unlikely, a storybook one. Odds are now trending on bad, just like a good chunk of the play yesterday. Is the team doing its best to turn people comfortably numb? Tyler and Deshawn will be turning your Mondays Purple. Join us for the conversation!
Other talking points for tonight’s show:
Record over the next 4 games?
    Lack of adjustments.
    Changes to the starting lineup?
Should the Vikes fire Mike Zimmer regardless of the outcome of this season?
Fan with us!!! Tyler Forness @TheRealForno, and Deshawn Vaughan @vikingsfans16. In the truck is Dave Stefano @Luft_Krigare producing this @Climb_ThePocket Network’s & @DailyNorseman’s production.

  • Vikings vs Browns - CTP’s: The Final Score
The Vikings are 1-2 coming off their first win. Will they get their second one toady? Nope! From the crowd in US Bank Stadium and improving play by the Minnesota Vikings, they will will attempt to defeat the even better team of the Cleveland Browns. Nope! With Dalvin Cook looking to play, even first rounder Christian Darrisaw seeing snaps on Special Teams, the Vikes will test themselves against a very good Kevin Stefanski and Baker Mayfield led team. Can the O-line improve some more keeping Kirk Cousins clean and opening high holes in the running game? Nope! Can Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson continue their touchdown streaks? Just JJ. Can the Purple be victorious? Nope! Catch us at the end of the game as we go live!
    1) Highlights
    2) Lowlights
    3) Speed round and your questions
    4) What’s ahead
The Final Score [the name for CTP’s Postgame show] is ready for the season. There are 4 new regulars and the occasional guest. The focus will be on you the fan, and how you felt the team did. • Two Old Bloggers - How to Start a Winning Streak
The Minnesota Vikings have now won their first game against the Seattle Seahawks in a packed US Bank Stadium. Will things get easier for them? Heck no! They will now face one of the team’s favorite coaches who developed in Minnesota for 14 years, Kevin Stefanski, and his very, very good Cleveland Browns. Baker Mayfield is quite the capable quarterback and with weapons like Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, Odell Beckham Jr and some complimentary players behind the 2nd ranked [by DVOA] offensive line, the Vikings defense will be tested once again. Mayfield may not be joystick-type mobile like the last 2 QBs the Vikes faced, but he can move and be dangerous. The defense will be tested. The Vikings’ offense is no slouch either, and the combination of Kirk Cousins’ outstanding play and Klint Kubiak getting more comfortable calling good and modern games, will have to continue in their growth and success for the Vikings to win. Can they? Dave and Darren who both started blogging on the Purple decades ago will go over a way to possibly start a winning streak, so get ready for the Climbing The Pocket and Daily Norman pregame show!
Talking points for the Browns-Vikings preview show:
    1) Vikings’ front seven has to slow down Browns’ two-headed RB monster - Chubb and Hunt. Chips?
    2) Vikings O-line needs to play competently against Browns front seven and have a game plan to block Myles Garrett.
    3) Cousins needs to continue to play error-free football but also push the ball down the field and Kubiak needs to be less predictable when he calls for running plays and be less conservative in the red zone in the second half (we want TDs, not field goals).
Join us for your Minnesota Vikings talk amongst Two Old Bloggers and join the conversation! Fan with us!!! Come join the @Climb_ThePocket’s & @DailyNorseman’s blogger show with Darren @KickassblogVike and Dave @Luft_Krigare.

  • CTP's In The Huddle - Leaning In
What a difference a week makes. The Minnesota Vikings have just came off their first win, soundly defeating the Seattle Seahawks. After in game and halftime adjustments, the Vikes took over the game on both sides of the ball. The offense created long sustained drives and in the second half the defense held Russell Wilson and crew to zero points. Kirk Cousins exuded leadership on the field that we had not seen from him in previous seasons. He had another outstanding performance along with the O-Line giving him protection like not seen in his time in Minnesota. JJ started off busy catching passes and Adam Thielen catching touchdowns. The Justin Jefferson Griddy was seen in front of live fans for the first time, and Alexander Mattison was an absolute force in place of Dalvin Cook. It was a good day!
Speaking of leaning into a quarterback, the episode art was inspired by that from Kirk Cousins back to Fran Tarkenton. Come join the conversation with the guys as they discuss the Vikings, these topics, and more. SKOL!
    On tonight's show

    Agenda:

    How good can they be?

  • CTP Mondays - Kirktember & Vikings vs Seahawks
It is victory Monday and turning it purple will be a lot easier for Tyler and Deshawn. Your Minnesota Vikings, with some outstanding play from the offense, wring the necks of the Seattle Seahawks 30-17. Kirk Cousins played “the best game” per Mike Zimmer. It may not have been statistics-wise, it definitely showed on the leadership level and even taking off script plays and turning them into successes. The ball was spread around to multiple Vikings weapons. Alexander Mattison had a great day starting for an injured Dalvin Cook with a 170+ yard performance and over 100 on the ground. Justin Jefferson got to do the Griddy in front of fans for the first time. Adam Thielen is the definition of red zone clutch. The offensive line continued to improve as a unit. Greg Joseph was dead on on all 6 kicks. The offense and special teams were humming. The defense to a while to get going though. Bashaud Breeland was exposed again and again, but there were adjustments made during the game and at halftime and the D ended up shutting the Seahawks down. They even met the Mendoza line of holding Russell Wilson and his offense to 17 points.
It was a good day. Join us for the conversation!
Other talking points for tonight’s show:
    - Kirktember
    - Spreading the ball around
    - Klint is great
    - Mike Zimmer’s stubbornness is costing this team
    - The field goal call to go up 13
    - Offensive line Klint’s biggest advantage
    - Kirk’s best start to a season in his career
    - Zimmer’s elite defensive adjustments
    - Edge 2 becoming a problem
    - Players of the week
