I'm "that girl." That's what I have to tell myself when I'm faced different challenges. When I'm put in different situations. I have to remind myself, "I'm that girl." And you've got to remind yourself you're "that girl," you're "that dude," you're "that they." You are YOU. And despite whatever challenges life throws at you, you got this. I was listening to Beyonce's album "Renaissance," and in her track, "I'm That Girl."
She says, "From the top of the morning, I shine. Right through the blinds. Setting everything in plain view and everything next to me gets lit up too. You see it." Can you see you? I get it. These "blinds." These are the obstacles and difficulties that come through your life. But when you declare who you are, whose you are and what you are about, what's going to stop you?
See, light has an interesting way of creeping into things as long as it has the ability to shine. So shine. Be "that girl." Be "that dude." Be "that they." Just be you. Okay?

Stay alive. Look, I know there's confusion. I know you may be experiencing heartbreak. I know you may not know how things are going to work out. But the key right here is to stay alive. Whatever you're going after, remember, you can't fail if you don't quit. You've survived 100% of the worst days of your life. So what are you worried for?
My mother used to say, "Dawn, just live a little longer." So I say the same to you. Just live a little longer. Don't be discouraged and don't think that isn't going to work out because everything is happening in the betterment of you. Now, on this road, on this route, on this journey, things are going to come your way.
But what do they say? "What doesn't kill me only makes me stronger." I was listening to DJ Khaled and his new album, "God Did" and he has this track featuring Drake and Lil Baby and opening up Drake is like, "Try me a hundred times. Wanted me to lie, wanted me to cry, wanted me to die. I'm staying alive." So what say you? You ready to live?

You know you're a survivor, right? Listen, I say that because you have literally survived 100% of the worst days of your life. Every time that you thought, "Oh, my gosh, I'm not going to make it, I don't know how tomorrow is going to be." You made it because you're right here, right now.
So why is it that we fear or why is it that we carry this anxiety about what can happen next? Because if it's going to be anything worse than what we've survived thus far, then, hell, we're going to be dead and you won't even know what it's like. So I want you to stay encouraged. In fact, I was checking out, you know, country singer Reba McEntire? I should say legend.
She has this track entitled "I'm a Survivor" and she says, "I was born three months too early. The doctor gave me thirty days, but I must have had my mama's will and God's amazing grace." What? It's something about that grace. That grace and that favor. Think of it maybe like, I don't know if you like mayonnaise, but like a spread? It kind of just holds things together.
Just when you think you might not make it. And you got to be mindful. Oftentimes of your own tongue because, you know, you have to speak life over your life. So be mindful. Reba continues on, "I don't believe in self-pity. It only brings you down. May be the queen of broken hearts. But I don't hide behind the crown."
Don't be afraid to feel. Because when you feel, you can heal. Just remind yourself. "I'm a survivor." I know I am. And you are too.

They say, "dreams don't work unless you do." So what are you doing to go after the life that you want? Hmm? See, life isn't going to stop. So, I hope you are't going to stop living... your life on purpose and for what purpose. Here's the thing. Oftentimes, we care so much about what other people have to say, what they think. Not realizing that they can't see what we see for our own life. And the reality of it is, is that they are not always going to be cheering for us.
Now, you can't sit and wait for somebody to sign up on your vision. I was listening to DJ Khaled, in his new album, "God Did" and I was listening to the track entitled "God Did" and Khaled starts off saying, "It breaks my heart. They didn't believe in us!" He goes on to say, "You either win with us or you watch us win." Huh? And then we hear in the back, "They didn't think we would make it, oh. They didn't believe in us. But I know God did." And I want you to remind yourself that every time you think you don't have enough, you don't know enough. You don't think you show up as enough that God put everything inside of you to do what it is that you're supposed to be doing, to do the very thing that you feel that is on your heart.
And let me just go into what Lil Wayne said, "Sky is the limit. Every day I reach." What are you reaching for? Remember, believe in yourself. "God did!"

Look here... You're gonna have to stop living your life for other people. We dictate our decisions, the things we do, the people we date, the dreams we aspire based on somebody else's thoughts, opinions, views. Why is that? We've got to get to a point that we live our life for ourselves so that we can be sure that we are living our lives on purpose and for a purpose.
It reminds me of that track Beyoncé has "Church Girl" that everybody in the church is talking about, honey. Basically doing everything that she is stating in the song that people shouldn't do and that's judge. In it, she says. "Nobody can judge me but me. I was born free." You remember that. With the next decision that you make. How you choose to live your life. How you walk, how you talk, how you breathe.
However you do what it is that you do. Know that you are you for a reason and that [no one has a] heaven or hell to send you to. Hey, you were "born free."
All right, that's it for your dose of "Vitamin D." Be sure to follow us on all social media @VitaminDDawnDai and until next time, always remember, "you are your greatest asset."

They say confidence is knowing and you got to know who the hell you are. Like it's a feeling. Like you just know and I think oftentimes you can say confidence is comparable to "big energy.” Now, we heard Latto talking about "big energy," but I got somebody new. His name is Ladipoe and he's a Nigerian artist.
He goes by “Poe” and in the track he's talking about "Big Energy." He says, "I'm all about that big energy. I know you can tell from the confidence alone. Anywhere I sit, you know it's already a throne. King! Everybody talks, but be careful with your tone. Many have the number. But I only pick up the phone for that big energy."
When you walk in a room... when you answer the phone... when your presence is known, you better walk in like that "big energy." You better walk in like you own that room because you do. And how did that poem go in "Invictus" by William Ernest Henley? Understand, "I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul."
So what [are] you writing down with that "big energy," huh?! Let's go!
Alright, that's it for your dose of "Vitamin D." Be sure to follow us on all social media @VitaminDDawnDai and until next time, always remember, "you are your greatest asset." I ain't got nothing but that "big energy." Rwargh!

What's happening in the world lately? Beyoncé's album, Renaissance, has religous leaders calling it "sacrileges" and condemning secular music as a whole. Listen in as Dawn points out some of the hypocrisy of the church and how we shouldn't shame people for enjoying certain parts of life that cause no harm.
