Have you ever heard of the book Where The Wild Things Are.. I’d like to ask you to consider a new concept.
Let’s ask “Why the Wild Things Are?”
We know where the wild things are, except I’m not talking about the Wild Things of This World like hate, drugs, violence, sex and rock and roll.
I am talking about the Wild Things that reside within each and every one of us because we all experience negative emotions.
If you are anything like myself, I was taught to perceive these dark feelings as potentially ungovernable and at times even a dangerous force capable of unleashing destruction and causing pain bothy physical and emotional to myself and those closest to me.
You know the beast inside of you that is literally dying to be unlocked so that he can freely experience his primal nature or the warrior princess that is waiting for the opportunity to rip her dress of and unleash her inner savage goddess??
These TRUE versions of ourselves reside deep inside of us waiting to be uprooted and nurtured.
Once this primal beast or savage warrior goddess has been unlocked from their invisible prison of being and allowed to BECOME all that they were destined to be the only thing stopping them from becoming is YOU.
You are also the reason WHY these wild things are the way they are. Now don’t be hard on yourself! I understand growing up we are conditioned to suppress our emotions; heck I literally just had a conversation with a close friend and he said “he keeps his anger in check.”
Seriously, I get it, but please ask yourself “if I continue to keep these dark heavy feelings simply in check, how long until I explode?”
You still think you can keep it in check? What happens to shit when it doesn’t come out? Usually it comes out eventually as explosive diarrhea or you will require serious surgery.
This explosion for you could come in the form of a panic attack, heart attack, act of violence, rude outburst, fit of rage or just flat out word vomit on someone you love and care about.
Now consider if these same dark thoughts and negative feelings, your wild things were actually to be turned into a source of power, in a sense a fuel to your fire!
