IN THIS DARKIVE EPISODE WITH STORIES FROM JULY 2018: After spending ten years in prison, Sam Sheppard was acquitted of his wife's murder. But for some, questions remain. (The Shocking Twists Of The Sam Sheppard Case) *** “If this stone is real, it’s the most significant artifact in American history of early European settlement,” said geologist Ed Schrader. “If it’s not, it’s one of the most magnificent forgeries of all time.” Could the 430 year mystery of what happened to the colony of Roanoke finally be solved? (430 Year Mystery of Lost Colony of Roanoke Finally Solved) *** And I’ve shared the story before, but I was recently reminded of it and it’s such a powerful story, I wanted to share it again as most of you have likely not yet heard it on the podcast. It’s still disturbing to me – so I’m sure it will disturb many of you. I’ll tell you about the horrors and hauntings of the Bath School Massacre. (Hell Came to Bath, Michigan)

IN THIS EPISODE: When it comes to horror and fantasy, you’d be hard-pressed to find something more dangerous or terrifying than the vampire. Skulking around at night, feeding off the blood of the living, shapeshifting into a wolf or bat, hypnotic powers… it’s creepy stuff. Good thing it’s just fiction. But when you discover criminals in our actual world who think they are vampires – that horror and danger becomes all too real. (Real Life Vampiric Villains) *** If you’re a fan of U.S. History, you might already know that camels once roamed the American Southwest – brought to Texas by the military because they’d be perfect for the desert climate. But once it was all over a legend remained… a terrifying one. (The Red Ghost of Arizona) *** Just because an official government report is released about a UFO sighting or incident doesn’t mean that Ufologists and researches are going to accept those findings – or the story the government tells. Thus is the case with a UFO incident in 1952 outside of Tokyo at the Haneda Air Force Base. (The Heneda Incident)

IN THIS EPISODE: In 1908, Charles Luard found his wife Caroline shot dead at a neighbor's country house. But who killed her? (The Seal Chart Murder) *** We’re all familiar with, thanks to Stephen Spielberg, the concept of a close encounter of the third kind. That’s when you not only see a UFO, but you also see the extraterrestrials. The fourth kind of encounter is when you are abducted. A close encounter of the fifth kind is when you communicate with the alien – either verbally or telepathically. But then there is a close encounter of the sixth kind – the kind of encounter not even die-hard Ufologists and lovers of anything extraterrestrial want to experience… because nobody comes back from it alive. (Close Encounters of the Sixth Kind) *** Madame Delphine LaLaurie, made popular by Kathy Bates in TV’s “American Horror Story: Coven” was a first class monster. A figure of high society, she was well known for her mistreatment of slaves. But no one knew just how sick she truly was. So much so that even after leaving the mansion and it burning down, there are still terrors taking place there, thanks to Madame Delphine LaLaurie, the Monster of Royal Street. IN THIS EPISODE: We all love cute pet photos – so often those photos almost make our furry friends look human – even smiling in some cases. But one particular type photo being shared via email – a photo of a smiling dog – would never be described as cute, as it drives some people literally insane. Is it real, or just another cyber-located urban legend? (Smile.Dog) *** Being kidnapped by gypsies is a somewhat negative stereotype towards those who truly live the lifestyle. They don’t typically go out of their way to snatch people away… but in one particular circumstance it truly did happen – and it created an incredibly strange tale. (Kidnapped By Gypsies) *** Albert Coe’s story sounds more like a Stephen Spielberg film as opposed to a true story. But Coe insists it really did happen – that he saved the life of an extraterrestrial – and it resulted in them becoming lifelong friends. (I Saved E.T.’s Life) *** Pennhurst Asylum was shuttered in 1987 – but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any souls still living there. (The Living Dead Asylum)

IN THIS EPISODE: The 1725 newspaper headline read “Bloodsucker Devastates Village!” And thus began a great vampire epidemic. (The Vampire Plague of 1725) *** Margaret Allen was hanged to death. But it’s the strange life she lived and the odd nature of her crime that still interests people in her case. (The Hanging of Margaret or Bill) *** 12-year-old Gabriel enjoyed playing games with an online friend. But when he borrowed less than two dollars for an in-game purchase from this friend, then ignored his requests to continue playing, he found himself dying the most horrifying murder you can imagine. And despite law enforcement knowing who the murderer is, he is free now – and no one knows where to find him. It is a brutally horrible story you do not want children in the room for. (A Deadly Gaming Friendship) *** Being the victim of a stalker is terrifying – not knowing when or where the person might show up next, or what they’ll do to you when they do show up. But there are those who have an even more terrifying situation – where the stalker follows them their entire lives, and there’s nothing they can do to stop it – because the stalker is paranormal.
