Chris McDonald, a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor helps young adults transition into adulthood and provides holistic counseling services, navigating the conflicting expectations of traditional and holistic therapy. "It's bringing together treatment of the whole person instead of individual parts. And with holistic counseling, we're looking at every part of the self from body, physical, somatic, spiritual, mind, and of course, using some talk therapy as well - it's bringing all the best of both worlds together to treat the whole person.
" Chris McDonald is a licensed clinical mental health counselor supervisor and host of the Holistic Counseling Podcast. She has a small group practice that focuses on working with young adults struggling with transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. She uses holistic modalities such as trauma-informed yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and brain spotting in her sessions. Chris encourages her clients to get a physical from their primary care to rule out any physical issues that might be causing mental health symptoms. She encourages self-care and the use of breath work, relaxation strategies and yoga to help clients calm their nervous systems. Chris believes in treating the whole person, and she has created a holistic intake form to help do this. (So important!) She has also created a podcast to help other mental health professionals learn and build their practices with confidence.
